Is there any actual evidence that it's better for a rookie QB to sit his first year than to get thrown into the fire immediately? Seems logical it could be beneficial, but there's plenty of examples that support both positions. I'm not sure the guy who publicly requested a trade after moving up to get Wentz would have been a great mentor anyways. They could also just start Daniels if they really were that inclined to ease him in.

Vikings paid a huge price but I can understand why they felt they needed to make this kind of a move. I'm just glad Howie was able to take advantage.

Think Andrew Luck without the hype and entitlement

It wasn't really a commentary on how he will eventually turn out, I just think there are some negative points in there too.

Considering that even Peyton wasn't the consensus #1 pick among everyone when drafted (remember that Leaf guy, some thought he was better) and no player is ever a lock

I'm so psyched for the season now. Going 6-10 with Bradford at the helm was just going to be brutal to watch. (I hope) Watching Wentz progress will be enjoyable regardless of record.

i remember watching mcnabb as a rookie being a lot of fun

just seeing week to week progress and improved decision making throughout the season would be enjoyable

To begin answering that, I pulled all of the high-drafted (top 5 and all 1st-2nd rounders) QBs from the past 10 years that started 10+ games during their rookie year....Then I took their rookie stats and compared them to what Bradford posted last year. Here is the comparison:

Truly believe the ultimate scenario is for him to learn a lot of the small things behind a veteran, get a few snaps and then take over next year after the eagles get a few more playmakers. Sure you eagles fans will get more "hope" for the future rather than maybe a wild card this way but you lose a terrific all around mentor. Plus Carson isn't 100% but yeah win win.
Depends on how the coaches feel. We can't tell where he is on the development schedule. Before the Bradford trade I would have agreed with you, let Wentz sit for at least half a season, maybe an entire season, and develop him slowly. Once the Bradford deal went through it was a decision for the coaches to determine if he was ready.

I just pray to God he doesn't get hurt. We haven't been in this spot since we drafted McNabb, and he had early success. Let's just hope Wentz stays healthy.

I'm pretty curious how Rowe went from promising to the doghouse with the same db coach. Maybe he didn't work enough and assumed he'd be starting, or he's an ******* or something. 2nd round pick gone after a decent rookie season. It's like DGB but with fewer clues.

Not so fast, sounds like Kline failed the physical and the trade isn't final

To be fair we won't know the true value of this draft until we find out who the team takes in 2018 with the fourth-round pick they got in the Rowe trade. That could really turn things around.

What's everyone's best trash talk for Cowboys fans who also root for the Yankees? (Yea I unfortunately know one of those types - born in early-80s, so he was old enough to hop on the 1990s Dallas bandwagon, helped by his parents who jumped on the 1970s Cowboys wagon. He and his parents have lived in NJ their whole lives).

Recently my go-to has been some variant of "You must be thrilled that your basketball team acquired Durant."

Any other good zingers I should have at my disposal?

Not a zinger, more a statement of fact: "You are a cockroach, kill yourself."
