Great win - 2nd comeback by dmac in as many weeks. Some WTF playcalls - onside? 3rd/4th and goal on 1st drive should have been runs, redskins were getting gashed, but other than that, good stuff from Reid.

Hope Desean is ok. WTF @ Celek, just a horrible game today, dropped everything thrown his way, missed blocks - was killing the team in the 3rd Q. Avant was awesome, what a player.

People usually say that McNabb was worse than what his numbers indicate, well he was much much better than his numbers in this game. He just didn't miss throws today - drives were getting killed by drops and penalties. 27 pts against the Washington D is a great output.

3rd down defense was soooo bizarre today, looking forward to an igglesblog breakdown of wtf happened.

nice wrinkle there with the motion out of the full house backfield, but yeah, that is the go to play in those situations - draft tebow?

99% of the time it works every time. You would think that, eventually, teams would come up with a way to stop it. But nope.

I liked the onsides. Surprise onsides work something like 75% of the time, they should be used more often.

I'm not a fan of the offsides, but only b/c it's Washington. I hate using poker terms, but the onside there is almost certainly +EV, but it increases variance against a team that is going to need a lot of breaks to go its way to win. It obv was scouted well, and should have worked, but its not something that the Eagles need to beat washington. Just line up and beat them.

DJax has a concussion. Based on new NFL rules, he will miss the mandatory 3 years.

Ugh. In better news though, Vince Jesus Young just did us a favor by knocking off the Cardinals.

seriously though, we need desean to be alright here. This win would have a pretty dark cloud over it if he misses a decent amount of time.

In better news, jason avant is a player. Ive always liked him but he's emerging as a damn good slot guy.

I think the eagles just ran bad on third down lots of goofy plays by campbell where he extended the play.
With one timeout left Reid should have ran a play on the last play of the half.

+1, especially looking back @ the play-by-play.

3rd and 9 at WAS 49 (Shotgun) J.Campbell pass short left to D.Thomas to PHI 39 for 12 yards (Q.Demps).

iirc, they ran a screen on this play, which 2 of the lineman sniffed out a little late, but pursued well. We also had a corner out to that side that funneled the play back to the middle, but somehow it gets 12 yards.

3rd and 2 at PHI 31 J.Campbell pass deep right to M.Kelly ran ob at PHI 4 for 27 yards.

Really a great throw by Campbell, one I don't ever recall him being able to make. He prob connects on that deep fade, with good coverage, less than 25% of the time.

Those two lead to the second Skins TD. The Eagles then had 3 good defensive possessions - a 3 & out, and 2 asante picks.

The first possession of the half for the Skins was also super frustrating:

3rd and 10 at WAS 20 (Shotgun) J.Campbell pass short right to F.Davis pushed ob at WAS 49 for 29 yards (T.White).

Just horrible tacking on this play, and poor coverage - these types of plays are where the backup LBs are hurting the team.

3rd and 7 at PHI 48 (Shotgun) J.Campbell pass deep left to D.Thomas to PHI 13 for 35 yards (S.Brown).

The most frustrating play of the game, every pass rusher beats his man and somehow Campbell gets away and floats a throw over Sheldon. Ugh.

3rd and 7 at PHI 10 (Shotgun) J.Campbell pass short right to F.Davis for 10 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

Again, somehow Campbell eludes a sack, and throws to Davis when Joe Mays slides off him in pursuit of Campbell. Again, these types of plays are where the backup LBs are hurting the team.

Would like to see a goalline stand sometime, which was the specialty of the 2008 Eagles. Regardless of the bizarro 3rd down conversions above, the team needs to do a better job getting stops in the RZ and holding teams to FGs.

I really didn't understand the onsides kick vs a team as bad as the redskins, who have a lot of trouble putting together long drives.

The defense needs to get healthier.

Please be ok Desean

This nis exactly how I felt about it. Dont give a bad team good chances to beat you right out of the gate.

Beating a depleted Redskins team isnt whats impressive, Im more impressed that they were able to come from behind once again.

Im suprised there isnt more talk about that holding call in the 1st q on Celek, when Desean caught the TD in the back of the end zone. Did I miss something on that play bc I dont see how he gets called for a hold there.

Please to be facing Chris Redmon next week...

nice to see you giving Jason Campbell credit for some great plays.

That was a really well-played game, you could tell both teams wanted it badly. We just ran out of gas.

Six weeks ago I was looking forward to whupping San Diego and fearing Atlanta and Denver. Amazing how things change in THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

Edit: In all honesty we can run the table to the Dallas game. Not saying we will, but we're significantly better than all 4 teams right now.
Philadelphia Eagles: When You Wentz Upon a Star Quote
11-30-2009 , 06:27 PM
significantly better? are you serious? The Eagles barely beat the REDSKINS for crying out loud and they were trailing the Bears heading into the fourth quarter.
Philadelphia Eagles: When You Wentz Upon a Star Quote

Atlanta - Ryan is out
New York - bigger injury mess than the Eagles
San Fran - rofl
Denver - Ok maybe we're not "significantly" better than Denver. Whatever.
