Do you think the poor performance on D has anything to do with the personel? Especially at LB, let alone DB bc of injury/suspension.

+ the Chargers are pretty good.

The defense wasn't THAT bad today guys. It looks worse because they scored a touchdown every time instead of getting held to a FG or two.

O/U on carries for the rest of Westbrook's career as an Eagle? 50?

Sadly under.

Bottom line is this team has been decimated by injuries. There's some other blame to go around, but factor number one by a wide margin is injuries.

yeah another concussion, I felt pretty bad for him. ankle/knee/leg injuries are standard for him, but a concussion again is not a good thing

+1. Normally I would say it just isn't our year but the division is significantly worse than expected and everybody sucks other than NO/Min anyway. Dallas looked awful in Green Bay today too.

I hope they switch the linebackers back next week though and just take our chances with 1 guy sucking instead of 3 guys playing new positions. Spoon was playing well in the middle and I noticed the safeties telling GoCong he was out of position a couple of times during the game.

Andy Reid lost this game. I don't know why the **** I keep betting on the Eagles, but jfc stop settling for FGs and wasting timeouts.

Its frustrating as hell when you ask your Defense to make one stop at the end of the game bc once again we are out of time outs and they cant even come close. Not only cant they get a stop, they give up points.

Its a joke, and whats more of a joke is our division. We get beat again and some how we are still in it.

I'm calling out Trent Cole right now for the Bears game. Trent - you need to destroy Orlando Pace. This is exactly the type of LT you should be feasting on. We're talking multiple sacks, constant pressure on Cutler. The D needs you to step up and be a monster this game.

Are we going to sign a vet RB? Edge James? Ugh...we need to get something.

Free Duce

All I want is to see Andy just say **** it, and call a pass play every single play (which, of course, McNabb would never audible out of) for an entire game. I think they are on the way.

Has anyone else been rooting for Mcnabb to go down? I know thats somewhat sick but I really enjoyed watching Kolb play, especially now when I look back on it, I am just having a hard time getting behind this guy again. Im sure they will do something this week that will suck us back in though.

2Ws in a row IMO.

It's sad times right now, there's not much to talk about. Westy is prob done for the year, and the team is beat to shreds. If they can string together a couple of wins while they get healthy, then there will be things to talk about.

As for rooting for McNabb to go down - booooooooo.

Meh, get to the playoffs and run good. We have a team that's capable of getting to the playoffs, imo, but we definitely need this game Sunday night.

Once we're in the variance-fest of the playoffs, lord knows anything can happen. Especially with an offense as explosive (at times) as ours can be. I'm still optimistic.

Gocong back to SAM.

Peters should play.

The past week's worth of igglesblog has been fantastic, great pieces on McNabb and the deep ball, as well as the video rewind of the chargers game. Didn't know Cole and Parker flip flopped end this past week.

Also, not so shocking piece on how Eagles are near bottom of the league when it comes to penalties and in fact bottom of the league w/rt special teams penalties.

Onion's awesomeness strikes again...

Quote:
SAN DIEGO—The Eagles were forced to settle for a field goal against the Chargers Sunday after sustaining a 260-yard, 64-play drive that featured six separate red-zone appearances and took 52 minutes off the game clock. "It's disappointing not to score a touchdown when you keep a drive alive for more than three and a half quarters," said quarterback Donovan McNabb, who completed 32 of his 66 passes, converted 26 first downs, and was carted off the field for X-rays twice during the drive. "At least we came away with three points. Those 120 yards in penalties really hurt our field position, but those conversions on third and 21, third and 64, and the fake punt on fourth and 72 showed that this team never quits." Backup QB Michael Vick took one snap from center during the nearly hour-long drive, failing to complete a screen pass.
