This is going to blow up in Chips face. getting rid of anyone who doesn't drink the Kool aid - I understand it's your team and all, but none of you really think you're better off without DJax, Shady and Maclin, do you - is not going to fly. Dude thinks he's Belichick.

There was obviously something that wasn't being said when it comes to the DJax release. The team is overall obviously better off with Shady but I will take Kiko/Gore for ~6m over Shady for 12m any day of the week. And you really can't judge the Maclin signing until we hear the number. I truly believe he's a good WR but I feel confident that he benefitted a lot of Chip's system* and I for all we know, Philly offered Maclin a reasonable deal but he turned it down for KC throwing money at his cause LOL CHEFS

*See: Jackson, DeSean. He had a really good rookie year, but then 3 really mediocre/bad years before exploding with Chip in 2012

Edit - Somebody in the offseason thread claim to be friends with a good friend of Maclin's and said he really wanted to go home and that played a big factor on where he signed. If true seems like his departure is more on Maclin and not on the Eagles.

The possibility exists; however, in this scenario it seems extremely doubtful since all reports state the eagles offered him a competitive deal.

The more likely scenario is the chiefs overpaid and Maclin wanted to go back home.

This can be refuted if it turns out the contract is 4/36 with 17.5 million guaranteed. At that point you can call bull**** on the eagles.

I know someone who is extremely close to Maclin, one of his best friends as a matter of fact. You can choose to believe me or not but apparently Maclin really wanted to go home and play for KC. That was the deciding factor.

I don't doubt that Maclin wanted to go home. I'm not sure Chip cared. It will be interesting to hear how they spin it. Either way, losing your three best offensive players is rarely a good look.
