one of the better big picture articles I've read about Chip,Foles, and the offense in general in awhile

It’s fine to disagree. One thing I would like to add though, as I forgot to touch on this in the article, is some understandability as it pertains to Nick Foles decline, specifically, and why you can expect it to continue. An example from 2014 would be how defenses responded to the Eagles 3 WR sets. In 2013 defenses, as per usual in typical NFL, defenses responded to the Eagles 3 WR sets with nickel personnel and the Eagles took full advantage by running the ball often. It was an advantage they exploited for most of the season, giving Nick Foles much more manageable down and distance throws. In 2014, this was an area defenses got smarter. Sheil Kapadia wrote an article that touched on this, but defenses were opting to stick with base personnel vs 3 WR sets. They were content with giving Nick Foles passing advantages if they could limit the Eagles running game. The result was more third and longs for the Eagles and more "out-of-comfort-zone" throws that Foles needed to make. The results were very volatile. It is also the main reason Chip called many more passing plays in 2014 than 2013. He didnt want to bang his head against the wall, defenses were content on weakening their pass coverage, so Chip felt the Eagles should have been able to take advantage. Another area defenses adjusted was playing much less Cover 1- Man and playing more Cover 3 with more defenders dropping into zone coverage, tightening all throwing windows. These are defensive adjustments that aren’t going to change. It’s hard to see how Foles will be able to do any better in 2015 than 2014. I also feel very confident Chip knows this. Lets see how he addresses QB position during offseason. It will be very telling. Only options are upgrade QB or upgrade surrounding talent, which is considerable already.
