I'm actually not that bummed about the Foles news. Sanchez seemed to be fine. I always felt like Chip made Foles look better than he was. Sanchez looked pretty accurate yesterday and one of his two picks wasn't his fault at all (FU, Huff). The 2nd INT was a bit Sanchize-y but it's not like Foles hasn't thrown some terrible INTs.

Demeco hurts way more.

that 2nd int wasn't great but still don't reaaaally think it was all on sanchize.. think riley is just a really really bad route runner and gave up on it

Oh, that Matthews. Yeah that guy sucks and Chip and Billy should feel bad that he's in any position to start games.

Mathis should be back which is nice, and I guess if we can survive without Kendricks we can without Ryan, too. Losing Foles might not be a downgrade with how Sanchez has looked in limited action, and Foles has kinda sucked this year in all honestly.

All things considered, we could be a lot worse off.

I tend to think the pffensive scheme will play out with Sanchez similarly to Foles. If Chip is really smart (assumed so) he will look for more screen passes to get Shady or Sproles in open field to make plays on their own.
Sanchez didn't look like he missed a beat with Maclin and he brings a scramble threat that Foles doesn't possess.
I see visions of Pete or Detmer back in the Donovan injury days. They actually did better than McNaab getting the birds into and winning playoff games until Dvan comes in and promptly loses

What would the FO have to gain from leaking that? If it's true, they wouldn't want to leak it. It would damage any trade value Foles might have, or if Sanchez is a disaster they can put him back in for whatever's left of the season. You don't devalue your assets for no reason.

It's NJ.com. They're hacks looking to generate controversy and clicks. I don't understand the assumption that any hack disparaging an Eagles player has info leaked by the FO.

Sanchez scares me - I've seen him play a lot in the NY market. When he was bad, he was really bad. Hopefully it's a system thing. Obviously Foles has played poorly this year, but so has the line and running game. I was hoping he would improve as things came together. We just don't know with Sanchez in this system, but we're about to find out

Hopefully there won't be much of a drop-off, especially when compared to how Foles has been playing. The run game is finding their groove and Mathis is coming back. Sanchez shouldn't need to be heroic, so I agree replacing Demeco seems like the bigger deal.

It seems people think Matthews will start over Acho. Is that just based on who replaced Demeco in-game? Anyone hear anything from practice on that? I think when Kendricks was out they split snaps pretty evenly. I don't know who to want - the old giant douche vs turd sandwich conundrum.

Good thing is Matthews/Ocho will only be in on strictly running downs with Carroll coming in on passing. Kendricks needs to step up and be the new leader of the defense, it's all riding on him imo.

Looks like herremans is done for the year. I wonder if he'll be back. He's 32 and dropped off a bit. Tobin has seemed solid at guard so the line should be fine.

Sadly, Demeco's career may be over.

Gardner looked good filling in on Sunday too, I think we'll weather the Herremans injury. Still sucks.

Very confident in the o line going forward, herremans is the most replaceable guy of the bunch. He has been a constant on the o line for quite some time now though, sucks to see him get injured.

Still super bummed about demeco. Don't know how the D is going to function well without him.

the CHIZE to MATTHEWS connection tonight has been so ****ing awesome

I've been posting this in the gameday thread but there were at least 2 plays where Sanchize avoided pressure, stepped up in the pocket and completed passed that Foles would've take a sack on. The offense does seem to look better with CHIZE...

the pick that never was (CAR guy stepped just out of bounds) was like classic sanchize and def made me think this could be an interesting ride in that moment.

he had some flashes of brilliance. finally a qb who is good in the pocket (after vick and foles)... also very accurate while scrambling and for the most part good decision making.

need the running game to get going and things could get real interesting.

anyway, as someone who has been on the record (ITT too) as being low on foles, i am optimistic and don't think that we need a top QB to make a deep run

Getting tired of saying the Eagles just aren't good. About to finally say "They are a good team", but then I see the schedule and we'll see how good they are after the Green Bay game.

Right now, Eagles are playing well in every aspect. Offense/defense/special teams. I do worry a bit about their running game. McCoy just doesn't seem like himself. 19 yards rushing on 12 attempts? Last year it'd have been 119 yards. Just worried they will run into a good defense that'll shut down their passing game and their offense will be ineffective.

We'll know in 6 days how good the Eagles really are.
