Read the stories... It has to be now, it wouldn't make any sense to keep him around for a little longer and then get rid of him.
And this is the deepest draft at WR in a long time, so chip has zero worries about replacing him with a player who fits even better into his offense.
"It’s unclear how much the gang connection (if there is one) played in the decision to cut Jackson. Per the report, the team also was concerned about his “bad attitude, an inconsistent work ethic, missed meetings and a lack of chemistry with head coach Chip Kelly.”
I mean it sounds like the gang stuff is iffy at best. If the work ethic and missed meetings is an issue, can't you coach him out of that?
Why do 7+ teams line up to sign him if the gang things is a big deal? I don't get it.
The fake robbery sounds 100% legit. It's also being reported that several players called him a cancer in the locker room. When you add everything together, the move makes sense. I stand by chip and company in their decision.
I trust Chip and company are making the right decision, HOWEVER, are we not entitled to a reason why they would cut one of their best players? We have received no reason, only that they thought about it long and hard.
There are tons of accusations, locker room issues, gang stuff, etc, but I would like to know why. But I dont think thats ever going to happen.
I must have missed something, the robbery was fake?
Cell phone? Im not worried about stealing a cell phone when I am stealing a safe.
Is there an article about that? Not saying your wrong but I never heard anyone report that the robbery was a fake, plus wouldnt he be in some serious legal trouble if that was a fact?
put me in the i have no idea how big a douchebag desean jackson was in the locker room and during practice, but there were definitely some warning signs, camp.
They had the opportunity to make a more EV play just a little later, and didn't do it. That's why I was asking about their prospects to spend right up to the cap soon. Because clearly there was a better time to cut or trade this guy than yesterday.
I don't think the organization is racist at all for releasing DeSean. I think a lot of racists who already assumed DeSean was popping punk ass bloods are going to feel vindicated.

Reason: I still think we should've kept DeSean, FWIW.

Put me in this camp also... the most telling thing to me is that not one player before or since has come out in support of Mesean. Those guys in the room know whats up and weather we ever find out or not is irrelevant. Christ guys supported Riley Cooper publicly, its what is always done.
It just sucks for us fans because there is no way we will ever understand all the details behind the release. The slim facts that are available allow us to extrapolate to an extent, and each of us can guess whether this was a gross overreaction by the front office or a tough decision that had to be made. But this move is likely to be judged in hindsight depending on what happens with Desean in the future on his next team, and not on the merits of what actually happened.
Gotta give alot of credit to Chip for getting rid of Desean if he felt that he was a negative influence on the team. Alot of coaches would let it go because he was putting up numbers.

This is a good point. Kelce's tweet says it all imo. We'll find out if chip was right or not next season, if the offense suffers he's going to rightfully get heat for it. I'm willing to trust him for now though.
