Bunk is suiting up, good. Little worried about Fokou at SLB, hopefully he plays well.

Not going to go as far as to say they gave it away, but the Eagles just shot themselves in the foot over and over again tonight. Poor coaching decisions, wasting TOs, dropped balls, missed throws, blown coverage etc... All of Dallas' points came off of some Eagle **** up. 7 points off Maclin's drop that was picked. 3 points off Donovan's second pick. 3 off of White running into his own player letting Crayton run free. And 7 on Sheldon's blown coverage. Ugh.

I hate that we cant seem to win close games anymore. The offense wasn't terrible nor was the defense. Just little things by each that added up to a 4 point loss. I don't think either int was McNabb's fault. Maclin dropped the first one and just never looked for the ball in the 2nd. Stacy Andrews is really bad too.

Very frustrating game...

Did anyone else second guess the decision to kick a 52 yd fg with 5 minutes left? It just seemed like 4 down territory to me.

Re: Philadelphia Eagles 09-10: Super Bowl or bust....again!!

Refs were terrible, but we should have won anyway, can't really blame it all on that. Shouldn't have been in a position where those bad spots could make or break us. Our coaching drives me crazy, they're back to the awful playcalling, timeout management, and clock management that plagued us all last season. I have no idea why he kicked that FG given that we had no timeouts left.

Even beyond the coaching, stupid penalties did us in though. If we had the Hobbs KO return for a TD after halftime that would've totally changed the momentum of the game.

Good to see that Peters was able to return, that was a nasty-looking injury when it happened. Any updates on Jordan yet? His knee was totally going the wrong direction; I'd be surprised if he's back soon. Asante had no business going back in the game last night after he took the knee to the head; hopefully he'll be alright.

I thought the playcalling was good last night for the most part. There was a solid balance of run and pass.

Has Jean-Gilles been inactive all season? Is he just not good or what?

I hope Akeem Jordan gets back on the field soon. JMU represent!

They still scored a TD on that drive anyway.

I was talking about this in the game thread but anyway...Akers, going into that kick was 3/10 on 50+ yd FGs his last 4 years. The Eagles chances of making that 4th down are ~30%. Hmmm.

Re: Philadelphia Eagles 09-10: Super Bowl or bust....again!!

Thought the play calling was fine, the only thing I would have done differently is given it to weaver instead of McCoy in a couple short yardage spots.

The execution was terrible, I think part of the reason the Eagles have so many frusturating losses like this is because they are really good. When other teams play there C games and do all sorts of stupid **** they get blown out, the Eagles are good enough to stay in games when they play their C game, which is super frustrating to watch.

Re: Philadelphia Eagles 09-10: Super Bowl or bust....again!!

Yea I was completely fine with the play calling, it was relatively balanced. Mcnabb was running for his life a good amount of the time, the pocket was collapsing on him constantly and he was forced to step up making it more difficult to throw the ball down field. 5 years ago Mcnabb would have never been caught from behind scrambling out of the pocket.

This may sound ridiculous but I feel it needs to be said, Matt McBriar kicked a hell of a game. He pinned us deep repeatedly, 3 out of 5 punts put us inside the 20.

Looking back, the O-line had a very poor showing - Going over the game again - That play where DeMarcus Ware hit McNabb's arm when he was throwing is a almost certain TD, Maclin had everyone beat. With an 8-man protection, that's really inexcusable.

I sit right by that end zone and our whole section was yelling the same thing, that could have been the difference in the game.

Ellis Hobbs placed on IR

Quote:
The Eagles have placed kick returner/cornerback Ellis Hobbs on injured reserve after he suffered a severe neck injury that will require surgery. This sucks. I like Hobbs and we all saw the last two weeks how dangerous he can be as a return man. The job now falls to Quintin Demps, Jeremy Maclin and Macho Harris.

To fill Hobbs’ roster spot, cornerback Ramzee Robinson has been signed, formerly of the Lions. He was Mr. Irrelevant in 2007, the moniker awarded the last player drafted. Cool!
This sucks, I was really starting to like him as a KO returner. It seemed to me that Hanson was getting all of the nickle reps anyway so hopefully it doesnt hurt the D too much, but it most certainly kills the depth.

jeebus - and the hits keep coming

not a huge loss, but add it to the pile, which is already substantial
