Does the 3 seed matter? Win out and the Eagles get the 3 seed, lose to the Bears and they are looking at the 4 seed if they beat the Cowboys. fwiw, the 3 seed is likely playing either the Panthers or Saints with a chance to play the Cardinals, the 4 seed probably plays the 49ers. Another thing - if the 3 seed wins in the first round they won't have to go to Seattle in the divisional round, instead playing @ CAR or NO, and if CAR is the 2 seed I think that is the ideal matchup for the Eagles to try to get to the NFCCG. And, if whatever other team wins @ SEA, the Eagles get to host the NFCCG.

So, I do think getting the 3 seed is important. I don't know if it is worth the risk of getting players injured, but it would also suck to "let" a potential playoff opponent get into the playoffs (Bears).

I still think that getting the 3 seed instead of the 4 seed is really important. I'm sure there has been internal discussions about it. Just think about this scenario - CAR beats NO today, likely wins division and gets the 2 seed. The Eagles road to the NFCCG as the 3 seed would be v. NO (blah on the road), then @ CAR no matter what. With the 4 seed, it is v. SF, then potentially @ SEA if aforementioned not-as-good-on-the-road Saints can't win, likely outdoors, v. a NFC North team. Uh, it's not even close at all which I'd rather have.
