I think we're all guilty of having unrealistic expectations. This is going to be a process, and one that probably is going to take a couple of years. The defense needs overhauled, the offense is still missing some pieces, including a QB, and Kelly has to fully adjust to the pro game.
So much this. It's tough to keep the team in perspective. This is a rebuilding year. The team is being completely overhauled and it is missing it's QB of the future. But with the division being so ****ty, and the way the offense has looked at times, it's tough not to want to win now. But truthfully, the Eagles are probably better off not winning now and then being able to grab one of the great QB prospects in the 2014 draft. Just got to keep in mind that Vick is fundamentally flawed, but Kelly knows this, and knows he is just a one year rental until next year.
I'm not expecting miracles out the defense. They are a really untalented bunch. Reid left the cupboard bare for Kelly on that side of the ball. But Kelly is running a defense that minimizes the impacts of his best players. Cox, Graham and Ryans are best suited for the 4-3, and haven't looked comfortable in the new defense. It kinda seems like they are forcing players into a scheme instead of suiting the scheme around the players.
