The d line was destroying atl's oline, the corners are locking down the wrs, but the lbs and the safeties are just getting destroyed. They're making zero plays, even though everyone around them is beasting.

I'm encouraged by this game in a weird way though, the potential of this team to be the best is evident. Most other teams would have lost by 20+ if they made all the mistakes the eagles did.

NFL's a crapshoot. Make it to the playoffs (preferably with a bye) and take your shot.

We have a team good enough to make it to the playoffs easily, and with some rungood, a team good enough to get a bye. Once we're in the playoffs, we're good enough to beat anybody (with a healthy Vick), and potentially either the best or the Top 2 or 3 best in the league.

So I'm disappointed inasmuch as this will hurt our chances of getting a bye, but I still think we're fine. It's early.

Edit: I don't blame it entirely on Reid, but he should go for it on 4th and 1 at midfield there in the 4th. Also, if you're going to call that WR screen that has a chance of getting stuffed on 3rd and 3, you have to have another play ready. Burning a timeout there is terrible. The options are 1) throw the ball past the sticks, or 2) have a play ready to go if your WR screen doesn't work. That allows you to either pick up the first down, or give yourself around 50 seconds to work with if you get stopped. Burning the timeout and not picking it up is about the only way to ensure you lose.

It was easy to see coming. I quite literally said it before 3rd down to the people I was watching the game with. If we can see it, he needs to be able to see it*. We pay him quite a lot of money.

* I'm not so wildly optimistic to ever believe that he will, just saying he obviously SHOULD.

You could place the game on Reid's shoulders, but not because of his playcalling, but because he didn't challenge an obvious play that caused a huge point swing which probably cost us the game. Aside from that, he was fine. Can't blame him for recievers dropping passes or Vick being careless with the football.

Of course his player and coaching personnel decisions leave a lot to be desired, but as far as playcalling and schemes go I can't place the blame on him for losing this game.

Sounds like Vick is gonna play. I'm not gonna pretend to play doctor so I'll just trust their judgement if he is on the field sunday then he is ok to go.

Also remember Chaney playing well in the middle last year. Never really understood why they moved him going into the season.

I have no reason to second guess what the training staff is doing clearing him to play. It was a mild concussion, the man flew back with the team, he is probably fine.

this should be a blowout today no? Vegas even thinks so with -9 spread. Eli's been terrible (29 DYAR), basically all their receivers are hurt except Nicks and their tight end isn't a receiving threat (3 rec). Don't see why they just don't put Nnamdi on Nicks with a deep safety and stick 8 in the box to stop the run.

It should be a pretty easy win and I'm not the type to be overly cocky. The Giants defense is just completely ravaged with injuries. I don't see how Vick and McCoy don't tear them apart.

On the other hand it's still the Giants, and even with all of the injuries they have it's hard to view them as pushovers. If they can establish their running game, this could be a tougher game than people realize. I still have the Birds winning this by 10+, but there's still the thought in the back of my head that the Giants could pull off the upset if things go their way early. Absolutely inexcusable if we lose this game, though. That's all there is to it.

So huge to jump out to an early lead. Early dose of Vick, DJax, Mccoy et al to torch that secondary and jump out to a lead. Then lolEli with no receivers against Nnamdi/Asante while trying not to get killed by Babin/Cole = gg Gmen and hopefully some rest for Vick.
