Some linebacker help in that "looking to come to Philly" group I hope?

SalPal reports Mike Patterson has brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation), a tangle of blood vessels in skull; requires surgery or radiation.

- From what I read on wiki, usually this is detected only during an autopsy, so glad that Mike is still alive. Wish him the best and hope that any treatment goes well. But it sounds like his career is over.

Apparently we "have more problems then people are looking at", per Mcnabb.

Why is he so easily baited into these questions?

McNabb just doesn't know when to pick his battles. People have cheap shotted him in the media so many times, and he never really fired back, even though he would have been justified in doing so. But then he gets baited into making a snide comment that was unprovoked, and he comes off looking petty and jealous. I still love the guy, he just never learned how to deal with the media.

all speculation for now but thought i would share

The only scenario that would work for Moss is if Maclin can't play this season for some reason. Jackson will be back Aug 9 or he loses a service year and won't become a free agent. I don't think Moss would ever be a red-zone only receiver like ppl were saying earlier with Plax. He quit on 3 teams last year when they stopped giving him the ball.

We tend to spread the ball around. I think Vick could keep him interested. Plus, if you're winning games and in contention down the stretch, it's harder to quit on your team.

Thought it was pretty interesting were starting Casey Matthews at Mike..there's talk about bringing in a vet to add depth but I'm excited to see these rookies start. Defensive schemes are completely different this year where I've read Trent Coles really excited because there new roles on the line is real simplified..attack the ball every down, and sack dat quarterback..

This could be the most explosive defense ever

We will have problems with the run. Hopefully the oline can keep Vick off his back long enough for us to get a big enough lead that the other teams won't be able to run.

Yeah. Tentative gameplan:

Vick to DJax. Repeat. Mccoy, Maclin. Brown, Celek etc. as needed.

Lolololol as teams try to throw on Awesome-wa/Asante/DRC while Babin, Jenkins, and Cole rush the passer.

Full depth chart released.

yea i am really excited about this defense too. obv. parker and babin will be switched at some point... kind of hoping jarett plays himself into the starting roll as well and is switched with coleman.

sidenote: kurt coleman's GF came to my birthday party celebration on friday b/c she is a friend of a friend.

brag: she's really hot
beat: i didn't bang her
variance: i got really smashed

I'm actually kinda optimistic about the o-line this year, getting jackson back, Watkins at RG, and Harris @ RT should fix a lot of the problems, or at least be an improvement from last year. That and Howard Mudd is awesome.

speaking of o-line... i am hearing 6th round draft pick Jason Kelce from cincinati is making a run at the starting center job. everyone likes him at camp, and he's getting a lot of reps with the 1's. only problem is he is 6'3" 282 lbs. hopefully he can gain a bit of weight and at the very least we will have a decent backup for if/when j jackson gets injured again.

"O RLY" says the Pats fan. I loved watching Vikes and Titans fans jump for joy when they got Moss, and he did nothing for them.

Spread the ball around? Brady only won the MVP last year for being arguably the best distributor last year, and actually clogged the offense up by forcing the ball TOO much to Randy.

Winning games, being in contention? Nah, the Pats weren't really in contention and winning games last year, Randy was obviously frustrated with the organization's lack of commitment to winning.

I don't know what Randy's problem is, I don't think anyone really does, but this kind of statement just makes me laugh, because there's some obvious evidence against it. He threw the Vikings under the bus and basically laid down at the altar of Belichick in that bizarre press conference last year, almost saying, "what the hell did I just do shooting myself out of town?" And he STILL didn't do **** for 2 organizations after that, in one year. But I'm SURE the Eagles could turn him around.

You're arguing against things I never claimed.

I didn't say he couldn't lose interest on a winning team, I said it's harder to lose interest in the midst of a run, how could that even be arguable?

He's retired. He doesn't have to come back and play. I'm assuming that if he agrees to come back, it's because he wants to, you know, play football. Since he wants to play football already (assuming he signs of course, which looks unlikely), I think we would be one of the best fits for him. We're always going to be a team that predominately throws the ball. Vick's armstrength would be good for him, and he'd presumably be a main target in the redzone for us.

I never said he's 100% lock sure thing, or even anything close to that. He might come to Philly and not work out. If he decides to come back, I think Philly is one of the best places he could. You disagree with that?

That makes me think the Maclin thing is looking worse rather than better, but I definitely like the signing either way.

Now please pay Desean his money.

They just like buying low on guys coming off injuries. Not a bad idea since they never spend any $$ on any of these guys. Marlin Jackson, Cornelius Ingram, Jack Ikegwuonu etc.

If they were going to sign someone because they are worried about Maclin, it would be someone that could play right away.

coughlin butthurt about the steve smith 'robbery'

most lol worthy quote:

Quote:
"Well, I am upset, and so is everybody," Coughlin said. "But we're disappointed in the fact it's like lining up for the race and you're in the locker room and nobody tells you the race is going to be run. That's the disappointing thing here. I don't think we were given the opportunity to do what we could have done."
do you listen to yourself? welcome to the nfl, people aren't going to roll over and let you sign whoever you want, whenever you want.
