How does the offense score zero after the first quarter? The Alshon drop sucked but they should have done something before then. Losing Brooks and Peters, gah. Defense did their job, **** secondary and all.

Schwartz is such a good coach. Saints avg 37 ppg this year at home in the 7 games Brees played. Held them to 20 today with guys I didn't even know were on the team playing corner after Douglas got hurt.

Feel bad criticizing Foles but he was brutal today after those first 2 drives. The line did a great job protecting and the RBs were stonewalling blitzers (even Smallwood!) giving him time to makes plays downfield. He just couldn't do it. That first INT pretty much changed the game but thats always been Foles.

the D not picking up that fumble was the turning point in the game. they fall on that ball and they're deep in NO territory winning 14-0. instead the drive nets NO a TD after they can't stop 2 4th down conversions.

I think he’s messing up two separate drives. The fumble which the saints recovered but ended up being 4th and long and leading to a punt after an official review. And then the next saints drive where the saints went like 80 yards and scored on a 4th and one but also the eagles got owned on the fake punt by the saints.

Okay that’s what I thought. If there was a turning point, it was the fake punt. People blasted Doug in the GDT but imo that was resulted oriented. If he accepts the penalty and NO converts 3rd and 11, all we’d here is “LOL DOUGIE like they would go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 30”.

There were a dozen mistakes the team made after that play that could have resulted in a win. It was always going to be a tough game against a really tough team, but to lose like that due to so many self-inflicted wounds really stings.

not recovering the fumble was big, but being completely that unprepared for the fake punt (after declining the penalty) was the biggest swing in the game. i still think declining the penalty was the correct play, but the second half of the decline decision is reminding the punt return team of a fake possibility.
that's a play call doug would make a decent percentage of the time if he was in peyton's shoes, so they should have been ready for it.

Kempski said they kept the defense in, not the punt team, because of the possibility of a fake. Haven't rewatched to confirm, but he's usually reliable. Linebackers vs d- lineman and it still worked. Sigh.

They were ready for it though. Eagles left their regular defense on the field. They thought there was a good chance of a fake. Honestly the Saints got incredibly lucky on the play. The only reason it worked is because Fletcher Cox hurt his foot on the play and got shoved back right where the run went.
