Is this true did they really announce AI 4th? then follow up with Iggy? Thats some poorly planned **** right there, the intors were probably the most exciting part of the night.

Also, I heard AI showed up to the building a half hour late, at 6pm 1 hr before gametime.

Lol Practice...

I thought they said he got there early to take practice shots at the arena.

i was watching dnl and they showed him strolling into the arena at like 5:55. Thad young was the one practicing early the whole time on dnl cause they were doing the show from the court.

I can understand why they decided to not announce him last. They dont want to make AI bigger than the team this time around. Hes just "another piece" according to the organization. So if they announce him last and snub iguodala like that, who'se been announced last all year, i thought it would be bad for team morale.

It hasnt been talked about at all, but its amazing how big of a hole andre miller left in this team. A floor general classic point guard is essential to winning in the nba, and we just dont have one.

just 5 guys running up and down the floor, not really on the same team, just trying to not embrass themselves and score some points. Thats my impression of this squad right now. also, eddie jordan is the worst, everyone saw it before they hired him, why didnt they? He doesnt team defense at all, ive never seen a lazier team on that end. I will say that iggy and thad, and dalembert do play some solid D individually, they just have no clue how to play team d, and roll over when needed, etc.

PG is one of the least important positions in pro sports today.

and at least the 76ers are better than the flyers

You're giving the Sixers a little too much credit.

The Lakers did win it all last year with garbage at the PG position, and the Magic made it to the finals without their starting PG. Just sayin' (although I do agree that it is one of the most important positions in sports).

QB is the most unnecessary position in sports, they should do away with it.

Considering you guys don't post in the NBA thread and all have Eagles avatars, I'm going to assume you're all much bigger football fans than basketball fans.

It feels weird to say this, but SToll is actually correct. Point Guard is the least important position in basketball. This is mostly because the smallest player on the court is going to have the lowest defensive impact. There are a few cases where a point guard is so good on offense that he makes up for this (Paul, Nash, Deron, a few others), but generally speaking, the point guard is the least important position on the floor.

Now it's not one of the "least important positions in sports," but it certainly isn't one of the most important ones. If a center, wing, and point guard are all of equal ability, the point guard would be the least coveted of the three, generally speaking.

My response was in response to basically everything Stoll posts, over the past few weeks he has made some pretty awful posts.

But thanks for the lesson boss.

Just saw this thread. Great season so far. I really don't see how this team is that bad.

While I mostly agree with this, aren't wings so much more easily replaceable? I feel like the gap between a good point guard and a replacement point guard is bigger than the gap between a good wing and a replacement wing. But a great wing is generally more valuable than a great point.

Then look at the other 4 starters on all those teams. you'll notice a trend

pgs are expendable when you have a good/elite (offensive) wing. the sixers do not have one

actually it's not, please list PG's on NBA championship teams and then list teammates on that team, you'll see how laughable your position is.
