The difference between the offense when BOB was there to now is really astounding. It doesn't even look like they have hot reads or sight adjustments based on the the defense is doing.

No one liked BOB's defense though. Everyone seems happy with Bob Shoop's defense.

We lost the two best players from a terrible OL last year. The hope was that a year of experience for the remaining group would make up for that. Now we know that's not the case. Sanctions created a real hole in OL for PSU and that's the one position that's hardest to have new recruits step in and perform. Franklin has brought in a lot of talent over the last two years for this group, but it's going to take a couple more years for those talented guys to become Jrs and Srs and fill the hole.

Offensive line aside, there are real questions about why the offensive play caller can't seem to make any adjustment in play calling whatsoever.

How's that working out?

Did people really think he was a great coach? He can recruit I guess, but no one down in SEC land ever thought much of him as a coach. In fact blowhard was a term used a lot. Now as an OSU fan I can tell you the SEC folks don't think much of anyone not in their own world - see how they turned on Urban quickly after crowning him king of coaches while he was at UF.

5-1. Defense is very good. Offensive was decent today. Should get Barkley back next week. Should be interesting.

Kind of tilting how tight lipped Franklin is about injuries. I completely understand why he does it but damn I would love some confirmation that Barkley is back for OSU this week. We will need him.

PSU is a 17pt underdog. It's unlikely Barkley is going to make much of a difference in that game. We really need to play Barkley for the much more winnable games in the Maryland, Illinois, NW stretch though. Pulling off all 3 wins would be phenomenal.

Yeah I get it. With that said, if he can play, run him out there. Look at last year, you never know. OSU not exactly looking bullet proof this year.

How about that Carl Nassib? Leading the country in sacks. Amazing that this year is the first time that he is a starter at any level since prior to high school. Didn't start a game in high school and was a walk on at PSU who made himself a beast through hard work.

He's got to be on a ton of steroids. Think about how hard it was to gain weight in college. This kid has put on 60 lbs. I would like to know more about his high school days. How does a guy with D1 skills not start ever on his HS team?

Pretty crazy he will be playing on Sundays next year. We need more 6'7" DEs. That reach must make for extra sacks.

Defense dominant, offensive good yesterday. NW, UM and Sparty to end the year.

Down 8 on the 3rd yd line, midway through the 4th how do you not go for the TD? a FG there is beyond stupid.

Only reason we were that close is because of a whole series of penalties. Not easily getting back there again.

Meh Penn State lost to everybody they were supposed to and beat everybody they were supposed to. Pretty typical of them. I mean their 4 losses were against top 25 teams and MSU will likely make it a 5th loss against a top 25 team.
