As I've stated elsewhere, Franklin is a great motivator (maybe the best in CFB) and a very good recruiter. He's not a great Xs & Os guy (but thinks he is). He is the guy who will see you through the tough times and make sure the team gets up for every game, but he's never going to out-gameplan Urbz.

You will beat the teams you should beat, but you'll struggle against the teams with equal or greater talent. So get used to being in the upper division of the BigTwhatever, but don't hold your breath for a title. Franklin thinks enough of himself to believe he can win titles at Penn St, but he hasn't shown that sort of ability yet.

Be prepared to be infuriated by his playcalling at times, even as you're enamored of his enthusiasm and likability.

they players decommited from Vandy we're decommitting from his program. they were decommitting from Vandy, who he is not the coach of. some of them followed him to PSU, which i would view as a sign of loyalty because they're following him. it's not like Vandy and PSU are geographically like Duke/UNC...

Franklin appears to have been recruiting players to Penn St while still on Vandy's payroll. That's pretty sleazy.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the best coach on your staff, and probably your highest ranked recruit if we have room for him. And for every DL recruit in PA/DC/VA/Maryland/VA in the foreseeable future. Somehow I don't think Franklin/Spencer is going to have much success against Meyer/Johnson.

I think we'll be just fine in the mid-atlantic. If a highly ranked recruit wanted to go to OSU in the past, there was nothing stopping him.
