Don't these guys know this is a football game - how dare they enjoy the entire college experience. The next thing they will want to do is go bang that stupid drum at Purdue, or roar like a lion in Happy Valley. Don't they know Woody used to move the team hotel if he heard loud music the night before a game. The players used to stay in monasteries before big games..... I am starting to think this team might just be a bit more together than I thought. This Saturday night will set the tone for the rest of the season. CR is not a fun place to play. They will have their quarter filled marshmellos ready to go I am sure. If the team can get out of there with a road "W" I might start drinking the Kool-Aid.
Buckeye fans doing the jump around is most likely them making a mockery.

So you're saying Ohio St. shouldn't be ranked ahead of Oregon, Boise St. and TCU just because of history and perception?

Good point, I agree.

interesting way to interpret my words i guess.

actually, i don't think either of us are qualified to rank any of the teams. we simply have opinions on them. if you think oregon, boise and tcu are better than osu than that is your right. i don't agree. i do think alabama might still beat osu if given the chance. i think bama would beat osu before oregon, boise, or tcu

What is also said in between the lines here is that last years results should not slot your team in the top of the rankings. Early results should be taken into consideration. That is why the BCS - while we all hate it - at least gets it right a little bit. Teams like TCU and Boise will only last near the top if other teams around them lose. Their conference wins will not help them move up. Other teams - even those with a loss will jump them. Because they play in second teir conferences against weak teams they will never be taken seriously by fans, voters or the computers. As has been discussed on ESPN and other sports shows, the TCU and Boise rankings are simply stabs at the BCS system. Both those teams would have a shot at beating a top team in a one game situation. But if they were in the Big Ten, Big12, SEC or PAC 10 they would never even have the chance. They wouldn't make it through the season with the appropriate ranking to get the shot. Listening to TCU fans talk it seems they would at least like the chance to play in a better conference and have a chance to compete. Boise on the other hand wants nothing to do with the big boys. They are happy being the outsider playing against lessor teams and complaining that they don't get the deserved respect.

sooo much fail imo...

1st thing that jumps out is that OSU is going to get shat on by the BCS because their SoS is really, really bad, like 100+ bad.

I think I read it was 117 after last week. It also said that the SOS should end up being mid 20's by the end of the year. tOSU's meat of the schedule starts this weekend. It might be hard to get past 3rd unless either Okla or Oregon lose. TCU and Boise might both win out and not crack the top 5 in the final BCS.

In October, yes. But not once November rolls around.

Santonio Holmes accepted money
How will this affect the football program if at all?

probably not at all, especially given he was one of dozens of names mentioned by that agent and its gonna be difficult to prove any of it.

not at all surprising, though. Hell, Santonio called his JR year a "contract year" in an interview at the beginning of fall camp.

The NCAA statute of limitations ran out - if true at all. I wouldn't put it by him though. He has turned out to be the punk we all thought he was coming out of HS.

racism/hatred is only cool AFTER they graduate, so you're within bounds..though watch, because people might begin to think you're an old, racist dumb****.

So you don't think he is a punk, huh? You really can't be more of a moron can you? Old - yes...racist - what? Where did that come from? And you folks from the m*ch*g*n thread talk about others trolling your thread. If you weren't so sad you'd be funny.

Remember where I live troll - just happens to be about 50 minutes from where SH grew up. His rep down here is not a good one. Drug abuse, beating his pregnant girlfriend, multiple babymomas, DUI, acting the punk in the NFL. I think the view about SH's agent contact probablility just might have some legs. Just my opinion.

I know it is hard for pea brains like you to imagine that there actually is a fan (base) that does not simply sweep bad dudes under the rug. When players act up they need to be treated like any other student or graduate. SH was a thug before he got to tOSU and apparently that hasn't changed. We have had our share over the years - starting with Art. Doesn't mean we have to approve of it.

Wiper already thinks you are a racist.
Probably because you mentioned that you think a player is a punk for taking money and that he happens to be black.
That makes SI and Columbus radio show racists too since they have mentioned it.
If this was a white player we were talking about Wiper probably doesn't make this haf-a**ed comment because nobody gets systematically labeled a "racist" when they point out the illegal activities of white people.

regarding race

Spoiler:
there is only one race... the human race. there is no black. there is no white. 6.5 billion people cannot be divided into 2 colors. it is illogical. using "color" as a race is more racist than anything. just ask dr king... "content of character vs color of skin" let's look at santonio's character and nothing else and that will tell us all we need to know about him.

People down here think SH is a punk - and they have known him alot longer than ***wiper has. His actions back it up. Taking money doen't make anyone a punk. His social history since HS most certainly does though.

But if you say anything negative about someone who is African American, you are a racist. That's what they teach at UM.
