If we can squeeze out a victory against them this month it will make our season (1808). With 1/2 our roster being freshman eligible this year I don't think anyone thought we would be in this position. Should have been a total re-build. Step 1 is not overall record, but conference record, which they should clarify in the rules because ldo there is no need to compare the conference records of three teams who are tied in the conference.

So we would get to step 5 at a minimum. Step 5 requires clarification. If two of the three teams are tied, does that exclude the third from making it to step 6? If two of the three teams are tied, do we exclude the third and use head to head from the final two to decide? H2H is how it should be done at that point, sending OSU to the title game, but it isn't written.

They just changed step 6 from CFP ranking to random draw a few weeks ago.

Just the discussion of this scenario so late in the year takes me squarely from 6 to midnight.

If UM wins out, they go.
If UM drops 2 and PSU wins out, PSU goes.
If the above doesn't happen and OSU wins out, they go.

Because PSU lost to Pitt, there won't be any random drawing this year. I think they should use the old rule where least recent representative breaks a 3-way tie rather than random drawing.
