When those two reopened their recruitment once the Maryland HC was fired you knew OSU was back in it. You are right the ease in which Urban closes is crazy. Once he starts his in home visits after the dead period every year other coaches put on their Depends.

Cooper was on par with Urban in terms of bringing in talent (remember he had two #1 overall picks in a 4yr span). He just wasn't that great at the other aspects of coaching. Notable picks under Cooper from '93-'00: Robert Smith, Wilkinson (#1 overall), Galloway, Stringer, Glenn, Dudley, Eddie George, Pace (#1 overall), Springs, Vrabel, Boston, Winfield, Katzenmoyer, Plummer, Diggs, Clements, Pickett. All of those guys had significant NFL careers, incredible he couldn't win with them.

Totally agree. Coop was the first to go get talent from the south and west. He had so many studs it was crazy. But either he didn't have the staff to develop greatness or the players simply didn't have the championship fire that Urban seems to instill in them.

But Coop did have studs

Yeah of course. I was referring to general performance as coach, not recruiting prowess.

No kidding. Gotta get that starting point guard to transfer. Dude is a cancer. Hopefully Thad has reinforcements coming in. His back isn't going to allow him to coach much longer. He has been the best we could ask for for years. I would like to see him go out with a boom.

Lol, yeah, we're real shook up about it.

It's always nice to get in but bubble teams never title. It really doesn't matter.

I love it when all the trolls have in their pocket is that our worse team in a decade (maybe?) didn't make the dance. I will take them seriously when they actually win something.

Interesting numbers from the twitter battle concerning the little brothers up north.

Current - 1579 days since tOSU lost to them

Since 2001 tOSU has held the victors mantle 4745 days. They have had it 730. (based on simple 365 days per year - not interested in leap years!!!)
If that wasn't so funny it would be kind of sad.

Also - did anyone see BM's twitter question? Who would your rather your son play for...? Priceless
