seeing how i've purposely tried to agitate you, and you responded without flipping it on me, i'd say the same about you.

next time you're home, i'll take you out drinking. see if i can change that opinion.

Jamel Turner shot and in critical condition.

I hope he makes it. Being young and athletic certainly helps.

2nd time he's been shot in the last 3 months. Crazy life.

Looks like he's in stable condition now and made it past the hardest part. Hope he is ok.

unless you are in the military or law enforcement, i cannot imagine a scenario where you continue to "get shot" after your first time "getting shot"

Your estimation of the marksmanship of your average gangbanger might be just a touch on the high side.

Last edited by bonds; 06-20-2010 at 11:13 PM. Reason: hoping for a full recover for Jamel.

This hurts if it happens. I haven't been on an OSU board in a couple days and have just heard it as a rumor and not confirmed (although it may already be). We usually have 2 or 3 very good receivers then have a very steep drop off. I don't know who will replace him but our WR corp was going to be one of the best in the nation with Posey, Dane, and Duron.

How does the son of a legend become ineligible? Cue Cat Stevens "My boy was just like me" lol

Rumors are circulating the DePriest is going to commit sometime relatively soon and that OSU is his new leader.

This class is already stacked. A verbal from him and a few others we are high on would solidify this as a top 5 class and close to #1.

Also guess who has the #2 class in the Big10 right now?
Spoiler:
HOOSIERS LOL

I know lol scout but whatever. Look at PSU. I know it is still July but 3 commits? That is horrible. Pretty much LOL the whole Big10 except for OSU.

I don't know what's surprising about this. This happens every year. You always fill up early with a bunch of Ohio kids. You have a dozen or so right now. zzzzzzzzzzzz

The push to an earlier recruiting class is relatively new. I think we are following Texas's lead to lock down the instate guys sooner by trying to fill things out fast, force the last few guys to make a choice (or not have room), and then not worry about it.

Georgia is trying the exact same strategy this year (calling it the "dream team"), and it seems to be working pretty well (we're #5 on the linked list). So far almost every single one is from in-state, and I think the class is almost full.

I think this is obviously the best strategy for the recruiting rich states. It puts pressure on kids to commit early to the instate favorite. I hope OSU keeps doing it as well.

Also look for DePriest to commit to Bama this weekend. The rumors are that we were ahead for a bit and Bama made a strong push. Some insiders are claiming that his high school position coach will have a job when Trey arrives on campus in some capacity (other than his summer camp job in Tuscaloosa) with Bama but I can't tell if it is sour grapes or not. I will try to remember to check on it. They also claim he is recruiting Braxton for Bama as well.

I know getting a job for a recruits handler is a common practice in basketball but does it happen that often in football? I think this is the first time I have ever heard of it for football.

It definitely happens in football, especially if the handler is a coach. I seem to recall that the guy who was Mitch Mustain and Damian Williams' high school coach got a job with Arkansas. And I think I also read that William Gholston's handler got a job at Michigan State. I could be wrong about those specific examples - I'm too lazy to look them up - but it's an old story.

went to the pitch to get some exercise in and 97.1 the fan was playing the osu-nc state game from 2003!

how did osu win this game?!?!

"North Carolina State (1-2) trailed 24-7 with just over 8 minutes remaining in regulation, but scored on its next three possessions to force overtime."
