You know whats funny? I was just telling my son that when I was in school all football starters drove Corvettes from Bob McDormit Chev. It was allowed then!!

The thing I hate about this move with Nebraska is that it will be really hard for Bo Pelini to take over at tOSU after Tress retires. Maybe the Fickle rumor is true.

Just for the record that was a borrowed Prom or Homecoming ride. But in all seriousness Pryor was supposedly not admitted into OSU at first because of minor recruiting violations. I have read a thread on Hineygate that talked about it but it was immediately deleted. It was supposedly attained through he Freedom of Information Act. The thread talked about how it was the 4th time it was posted and immediately deleted each time it was posted as well. lol

Dude - Mo C drove a great ride and you should have seen L James car in HS. Car dealers make a lot of things happen for these kids that they think will cash big checks down the road.

Haha Mo C drove more than one great ride. I saw him pick up a buddy of mine (fellow football player) in three different cars that he was accused of having. lol. One of the first things my buddy said to me when I got up there was that Clarret already had like 5 cars and this was only 4 games into his freshman season.

I live in Cincy now. I don't really see how that matters. If you don't want to believe me that is cool. But anyone on campus who knew or just saw Mo C driving could probably tell you they saw him in one of the cars he allegedly had.

It just sounds so over the top that even if it were true, I wouldn't ever tell anybody because most people aren't going to believe you.

I have plenty of first hand stories that are absolutely over the top and tons of second hand stories. Most of those stories I have only told to friends IRL. The fact that Mo C had the cars he was accused of having was pretty well known around campus and no one should really be shocked that they were true. Anything these kids want they can get but most do so in moderation. Mo C was pretty much the exception. He took it to a different level.

I find fans of nd and m*ch*g*n funny some times. Both of them are constantly talking about the quality of their schools as if you have to be the smartest person in the world to be considered as a student. Although it has its flaws, the APR was established to address the progress of student athletes in NCAA institutions. Not showing progress costs a school scholarships - so it has teeth. The link below is interesting - and funny actually.

nd is a very respectable 7th. But surely they should not be looking down their noses at tOSU who is ranked 10th. Because we have kids leaving for the NBA and NFL in mid quarter we lose points. Not sure that nd has that problem. m*ch*g*n comes in a whopping 84th. Seriously, 84th!!! And people on their board wonder why their Admin dept is taking control of recruits eligibility... 84th!!!

You've got to be ****ing kidding me. APR has virtually nothing to do with the progress of student athletes. It's a lazy man's metric which appears to measure two things: Whether a student athlete is eligible from term to term, and whether a student athlete stays at the school. It's intellectually bankrupt NCAA bull****.

Michigan's numbers are deflated due primarily to a large number of transfers in the football program - due to roster size football is the 900 lb gorilla of APR. Some of the kids that left (thank you very little Kurt Wermers) left ineligible, a double whammy. Of course Michigan is going to have a lower APR number given the Carr-to-Rodriguez transition compared to the steady regime of the Sweatervest. If anything you should be ticked off at how high your APR number is - not enough guys going to the league.

Being proud of your school is great but for ****'s sake base it on something that means something, not some b.s. number the NCAA dreamt up to penalize the Florida States of the world.

anyone that thinks UM has better academics than osu should try to drive a big rig on I-71 from columbus to cleveland.

it's probably really, reeeally tough.

Now please understand two things -

1) Noone likes the APR. Even those on the high side of the grade. But it is what it is - and it has teeth like I said.

2) Whether your players leave to go to the next level does not matter. Please read up on the criteria. It matters if the players that leave are registered in classes then withdraw after the schools drop/add deadlines. Trust me - OSU basketball knows all too well how that effects scores. 3 players that left for the NBA after the season. They had registered for Spring classes and we took a hit when they left school.

So if the APR (which I have said is not perfect) isn't a good way to judge the athletic departmants student athletes progress please list what you think is satisfactory.

BTW - I didn't hear clamoring from the north when tOSU was transitioning from Cooper to Tressel. I am constantly dumbfounded how short m*ch*g*n fans memories are.

And it keeps me giggling about how funny you all sound when you don't like published info. Typical, and yes funny. When Cooper was 1-9-1 the helmet was the most arrogant fan in the world - even more so than nd. Only the fab5 fiasco quieted them down for a while.

Does 2,400 days since m*ch*g*n has beaten tOSU in football make you unhappy as well? If so, I will stop and only post the number every 100 days. Your call.....

my favorite osu fan is the guy that harasses me when they see my window decal or something at a store, and are dumbfounded when i say, 'name either 1 person on your defense or an offensive lineman...'

yeah.

'well there's coach tressel, and we got that good quarterback..'
