Lol reading comprehension FTL. Check out the 1st sentence I put in my other post. I only came on here because I wanted to read what ND fans and haters were having to say about the 4th down win.

Exactly so. Less likely he'll forget about his tight end.

Having two great wide receivers and a super tight end is too much too put on his plate all at once when you figure it is already on top of his desire to put them off balance with the "wildcat."

Should we compare the stats from the two games today?

We won't even talk about the epic gift the refs gave you to lock up the win.

Meh, pretty titled with some of the comments here and in the sweat thread. As a ND fan, I don't think your first instinct after that type of game should be "fire Weis" or "Purdue suck". **** all the media hype. Your sensibilities shouldn't be offended because we didn't hammer Purdue in their stadium. They came out tonight massively pumped up (Black strip first time in three years / rare night game) having something huge to prove after the loss last week. They are a century+ in-state rival, with 27 Indiana kids on the roster. They played way above themselves, and are a team that gave Oregon a real run for their money a couple of weeks ago.

On our side of the coin, we had three legit playmakers watching from the sideline and our QB and team leader hobbling around after every play. Weis realized Clausen wasn't working early doors, and went to a well crafted plan B that had Purdue chasing shadows for a huge chunk of the game. The Defense was much improved on the whole, and while they are still clearly a bad unit liable to concede big plays - they manned up for a huge chunk of the game.

And when it all went to ****, Weis and Clausen got it done with a great drive at the end, and a Money time play to win. THIS WAS A GOOD WIN.

Maybe we've all gone so long without achieving stuff that we've forgotten that successful seasons rest on games like this. All the pre match predictions or paper comparisons don't matter on the day. Finding a way to dig out this sort of game is something we've fallen short on this decade, and it feels great to get it done tonight. If you can't enjoy it when you get there in this sort of coinflip then what's the ****ing point at all?

This is your team. This is your coach. Yeah, they could easily be 1 - 3 right now. But they could just as easily be 4 - 0. At least they're giving the schedule a rattle, and hustled up to keep some long shot dreams alive tonight. Ye should be happy with that.

If this exact game happened with Michigan they would all be sucking off eachother in their "perma thread."

We know this since they had an even worse win today and did exactly that. Then they had the hypocrisy to come and troll our thread when like one or two ND fans made a post in their thread today. They are obsessed with ND and trolling this thread.

lololololololol pathetic

Michigan came into this season with slightly different expectations for this season for very, very obvious reasons.

Well no. We've only had three seasons like that this decade. I could go for a fourth right now to be perfectly honest, I'd be delighted with such an outcome. Beats struggling to get .500. Also, "losing" to non - awful teams would also be a non - regular occurrence for us. We have tended to be destroyed by them this decade. So again, I'd go for some close losses to good teams.

The ND fans that post regularly in this thread were fairly grounded in their expectations before this season began. The above comment attacks a wider fanbase and media perception that exists distinct to this thread and those posting in it. Moreover, the level of vitriol being directed towards us from the usual suspects was pitched at the same level last season and in 2007 - when the wider fanbase and media perceptions were less exuberant.

You write the above post, but really you just like to hate away. And I can't see the point?

Lloyd. I basically agree with you. That was electric there, and they escaped with a win. Domers ought to celebrate the win, and Purduers the effort.

Don't even try and rationalize it. They are just obsessed with ND and huge trolls. Look at their behavior throughout this thread.

It's laughable and the hypocrisy is stunning.

Hey, no argument here. Apart from Shemp, the ND haters who visit here are seriously lacking in both logic and class.

Even in this thread, expectations were much higher for ND than Michigan at the beginning of the season. The vast majority of michigan fans were simply hoping to be respectable and to get into a bowl. ND was hoping for better than 7 wins.

And that still looks to be very much achievable. A National title is not on, but no-one in here said it was. As such, your posts are awfully out of place right now.

When did I say anything about ND and a national championship? Seriously? ND had much higher expectations for this season than Michigan did, simple as that.

We are ecstatic about what would normally be a pretty standard start for Michigan football this year because we are starting a freshman quarterback and we went 3-9 last year. We would love to get a BCS bowl slaughtering because that would mean we won 10 or more games this year. Coming into the year according to MT2Rs nice little preseason predictions based on preseason polling we win 10+ games 3% of the time. Based on that same metric, Notre Dame wins 10+ ~37% of the time.

It seems pretty obvious why we'd appreciate a 10-2 season with a BCS whooping a lot more than ND would.
