When did I say anything about ND and a national championship? Seriously? ND had much higher expectations for this season than Michigan did, simple as that.
We are ecstatic about what would normally be a pretty standard start for Michigan football this year because we are starting a freshman quarterback and we went 3-9 last year. We would love to get a BCS bowl slaughtering because that would mean we won 10 or more games this year. Coming into the year according to
MT2Rs nice little preseason predictions based on preseason polling we win 10+ games 3% of the time. Based on that same metric, Notre Dame wins 10+ ~37% of the time.
It seems pretty obvious why we'd appreciate a 10-2 season with a BCS whooping a lot more than ND would.
