Does this count as one of our asterisked perfect regular seasons? Of course we have no experience in considering a conference championship game as part of the regular season.

I don't think it's asterisked at all.... 10-0 is 10-0... Not like they played in the Pac and will only complete 6 or 7 games.

Cant wait to see what the ACC Championship line is. My guess is Clemson -6.

If you have to qualify the word "perfect" it's definitively imperfect. They list the 2009 Cincy Bearcats as one of BK's perfect {but} seasons.

Talent wise it's not even the best since 2015.

Where did I try to qualify the word perfect? I said it shouldn't be asterisked. They went 10-0... that's perfect.

Florida loss was huge. I think that all but secures Notre Dame's spot in the playoffs. No shot a one loss A&M team who doesn't play in the SEC championship jumps ND if they lose in the ACC Championship.

Losing to Clemson and dropping down to #4, and thus getting the bulk of Saban's prep time, may turn out worse than just playing the Orange Bowl.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The Orange Bowl over the playoffs? Come on stop with that.

1) Florida lost yesterday to LSU but it was the classic look ahead game for them. Hard to predict a win by a 17 point underdog but I think the Bama/Florida game will be a much more competitive game than the line suggests.

2) If ND loses in a close game I think they might end up at #3 with Clemson at #2 and Ohio State at #4. Ohio State has 5 wins against Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, Indiana and Michigan State. I mean Indiana is good but they certainly aren't great and to only win that game by 7 at the shoe in the one game against a quality opponent isn't jaw dropping. Ohio States SOS and defense is putrid.

Yeah I’d be furious if we lose to Clemson and drop to #4 behind anOSU. Especially if we lose a close one, the CFB world will want the Trilogy. Bama losing next week would certainly throw a wrench into things.

Agreed. It will get real interesting if Alabama and Notre Dame win. Texas A&M or Cincy for the 4th spot.

1. is far fetched, 2 is possible. Gun to my head I think if the PC wants both teams in the playoff they would at least separate us in the first round. That would be a bad precedent to set, that rematch CCGs will lead to another rematch.

Forgot to post this the other day BUT how about the signing day flip of Khari Gee from LSU to Notre Dame. Khari never took a visit to Notre Dame and when Khari narrowed his search from 10 to 8 Notre Dame wasn't on the list. Then when he narrowed it to 4 obviously they weren't on it again and eventually went with LSU just to flip on signing day. That is a gigantic get for Notre Dame.

I believe Notre Dame was the rightful #4. When they beat Clemson, Clemson dropped from 1 to 3 and when Clemson beat Notre Dame, Notre Dame dropped from 2 to 4. Notre Dame took care of business during the regular season and beat two quality opponents in Clemson and UNC. Texas A&M only had 2 wins (Auburn 6-4/Florida 8-3) against teams with a winning record. Not to mention they lost to Bama by 28. I can see Texas A&M having beef with Ohio State but not Notre Dame. Ohio State didn't impress vs Indiana or Northwestern and only played 6 games.

Yeah I really like this class. If we could land this type of class + a couple of Top 50 guys each year we would be consistently elite.

Totally agree... Top 10 class, one 5 star, eleven 4 stars and 14 three 3 stars... Very impressive. I don't think they will get him but if they can pull Ceyair Wright another 4 star in the 2021 class it would be huge. Not likely but I guess you never know.

I saw that Clark Lea was introduced today.... Is he not staying with the team through the playoffs?

likely the one ND lost by 24 when one of the top two teams in the country had their NFL #1 overall pick starting at QB, and also the one when ND had to go to 2OT to win against the same team that was starting a true freshman at QB who went 29/44 439 and 2TDs.

the line is currently at 17.5. i'm willing to bet up to 100 units total on Bama at 17.5 if anyone wants a sweat

Let's not act like DJ is a 1 star. He was the #3 overall prospect in 2020 and the #1 pro style QB. Not to mention Clemson was still the favorite in the game. You can downplay that win as much as you want but clearly the CP didn't downplay it.

Where are you seeing 17.5? I'm looking at 10 different books right now and half are at 19.5 and half are at 20.

It was so dumb having the signing day in the muck of the season finale. Nevertheless, while the big class was good for a 7 to 15th ranked team, it was not a class that say we are challenging Clempbama for top status. Lot's of talking up recruits who are 4 stars on one site and 3 on another.
