either you do it or you don't
the ND o-line might just be one of the best in the past several decades, but if they can't get the job done against Clemson then it really doesn't matter

Let's not forget ND lost by one score to Georgia twice and Clemson on the road in the last five years. It will be a dogfight in South Bend on Nov. 7th, ND doesn't lose easily at home. At worst we will be #4 in the playoff picture when it comes time if ND keeps it close.

Even if we don't contextualize FSU (10 points off fumbles, 1 score in the 2nd half) it's true that the Noles were the only opponent who has mounted an an appreciable offense so far. Lately it's been rare that the opponent even sustains a drive.

Of course this says more/asmuch about the opponents, but I don't remember a half season like this.

FSU is trash, so that game was pretty embarrassing, even with the turnovers

The Trevor Lawrence thing is going to be a bit bananas for the Clempson game. Either will be eligible and have to travel separately without a lick of practice, or will have to miss the ND game if he keeps testing positive.

Until yesterday those games didn't mean too much for Clemson, with TL and our somewhat suspect corner situation. OTOH it could be very much like that if they throw in a raw uber-talented ute for whom we will have one game tape vs Cousin Oliver College.
