He took like two steps before jumping, you can't stop from a full sprint in that amount of time. If he just jumped over the guy he was about to truck and didn't fling his arms out it would have been no big deal, he just had a flair for the dramatic.

You can slow down and have a light collision instead of jumping on people ldo

I vividly remember Mario Manningham running into the band in the corner of the endzone in SB in 2006 and he didn't feel the need to jump, and Mario was as big a dick as they come.

I just went and watched the Manningham play, and he was tripped up after making the catch and pretty much killed someone in the front row, pretty sure jumping would have been the vastly better alternative.

When I typed that I knew it was worded a little funny but I thought, "They'll know what I mean, LDO." Maybe I gave you too much credit. It's either that or you know exactly what I meant and are just being a douche. It's probably the latter.

Here's the clip, camera job. Clearly he can't stop but if he wanted to go bowling he could nail about 2 rows by staying on the ground.

Find a clip of one other player who attempts to jump over or into a group of standing people on the sideline or in the back of the endzone, ever.

i, for one, fear Charlie Weis.

when he gets all his players and the refs aren't biased, we're locked into a 30-year contract. that doesn't scare YOU?

As I remember

Michael Floyd WR 5* out for the year
James Aldrich FB 5*-once out until USC
Jimmy Clausen QB 5* Passing great, has turf-toe.
Armando Allen ?* playing but had to come out of Mich at key time.

and then there's
Golden Tate 5* Fast as ever but some wierd drops of TDs
Robert Hughes ?* Looks much worse than his 2008 self.

The defense is another story.

My point here is that it's only week 4 and we are missing a bunch of the offensive weapons that we thought we had preseason. Not too long ago everyone was saying that ND coulnd't get the black-chip players. Weis changed that, but they are in short supply as we don't have a USC-like resevoir of 5* ready to go, and no junior college tansfers.

Add this to a bunch of points being lost to questionable calls, and a schedule that is looking harder every day (Mich and Washington + so far).

I said that this year was going to be high variance and very hard to predict. I didn't think it would get this off the wall only 3 games into the season. No matter what happens, the trolls will be themselves and hate Weis. But I see that we could easily finish with 5 to 11 wins and still know nothing about how good of a team we have.

Can we please stop defending athletes who are clearly douchebags simply because we like what they do on the field?

Manningham: tool.

Mouton: dirty punch.

Period.

tool: person who probably screamed and jumped up and down when a player defined as a 'tool' catches a once-in-a-decade touchdown pass.

mario's put in his time, and has moved on, lay off him pls.

I thought this was a Notre Dame thread.

Is there anybody left on the schedule that has an above-average pass rush? One minor criticism of Clausen's play during the Michigan game was that he would just chuck it out of bounds if he got any heat. Obviously that didn't happen often - the offensive line play was very good - but I'd be curious to see if there were any validity to that claim. Obviously turf toe won't help his "mobility" any.

Don't overlook BigTenRefsLol wanting to get one back at Purdue. And don't get me started on Navy.

7-5 may be a great year for this team with that schedule.

You are probably right. Now that you say it, it sounds like something I heard/read this last week. Oh well. There go the Boilermaker's hopes.

Anyway. I know your hopes are high, but I think your expectations for ND should be high as well. Even banged up and missing Floyd, your offense should roll-- which is pretty good testimony for what you have there.

Nothing wrong with getting through the Michigans 1-1, but you were better than both.

It's amazing that we could very easily be 0-2 or 2-0 against the Michigans as well.
