It's beyond defense. No fire, no urgency, poor fundamentals w/r/t blocking and tackling. Even simplifying BVG's ridiculously convoluted scheme won't matter if the players aren't inspired to play it. I'm feeling an unfortunate reversion to the Davie/Willingham/Weis mean.

Instead of the traditional wishlist of coaches who are obviously not leaving their jobs, perhaps it would be more fun to start at the bottom. List the worst guys we should hire if it's the day before fall practice and we still don't have a head coach.
