Nah, there are certainly legitimate areas to critique the Kelly regime. Among them:

-An overly complex defense more suited to the NFL

-Team seeming "flat" at the beginning of big games

-Not "finishing" opponents when we have the opportunity

-Strength/Conditioning and its potential impact on the rash of injuries

-Occasional frustrating in-game decisions (chasing points, giving up on the run-game, etc).

But I also understand all this within the context of the many things going well with the program:

-Strong recruiting and development of talent

-Excellent depth tested all the way to the breaking point by the end of the season

-An offense that is finally flashing its high-scoring potential

The problems I see are correctable, and BK has adjusted in the right direction throughout his tenure. The trajectory of the program is good--maybe that's why losing these games hurts so much, because we're so far removed from the despair of Willingham-esque blowouts and recruiting. The team is *really* close. If injuries and the personnel situation was anywhere close to the mean, we'd have played in the Final Four this year.

I'd buy the injury excuse if the Irish defender was always a step behind the buckeye. But that's not what was visible from the cheap seats. There were huge empty lanes in the field and if Barret found them then they gained big yards.

Only part where Ohio converted like 12 of 14 3rd downs conventional talent disparity, they simply ran between the tackles and knocked us back.

I think the DC needs to go, but would largely agree that the program looks in good hands at the moment and the season has been far more positive than negative.

Fuller gone too. Probably saw Jaylon's leg get shredded and said, "I'm out!"

That sort of surprised me. I'd have thought he would have wanted to produce some better film next year and maybe going higher--with his injury he can't even go at the combine.

I still admire him for coming back to school after the academic suspension.

Not to many of the frozen five made it to 2015 and I respect those that did. It's not hard to understand why they aren't clamoring for a fifth year on campus.

By all accounts it was a phenomenal visit but we needed him to leave with us as his leader instead of being in the generic top 3. Still, BK has an in-home visit left so we may have a puncher's chance.

I should also add that the smoke coming from 5-star ATH Demetrius Robertson is much thicker ATM. He's being pitched as Will Fuller's heir and loves what he hears.

There mere fact that he's taking an OV in January, out of Alabama, raises eyebrows. We can rule out that he went just for vacation.

Robertson in-home visit today. Kelly, Sanford, and Denson will be putting on the full court press today.

If we got Demetris and one of Caleb Kelly/Ben Davis, this class would be pretty incredible.

Oh yeah. I missed visiting our regional rivals last year, forgot they weren't on the schedule.

A nice overview of remaining recruiting targets. I think we're in fantastic shape with LB Jonathan Jones and WR Demetrius Robertson; are trending very well with Caleb Kelly, and while we're huge underdogs, are at least ostensibly in the hunt for Ben Davis. Signing Day is going to be fun this year.
