Anyways, I know it's cliche to say "there are no moral victories", but this loss might actually be the exception because this game woke a lot of people up to the fact that ND is as good as anyone, and that perception is critical as far as getting into the playoffs. If ND runs the table, with the only blemish then being a close loss to FSU on the road, they're in. And if they're not in I will be pissed and bitter about it forever. Kinda like ND 93. I'm not an ND fan but whenever that team is brought up I get pissed about the fact that they didn't get the trophy even tho they were the best team in the country. ND is not gonna get screwed this time. They just gotta take care of business and not run bad in the injury department.
Great time to be an ND fan. Unlike 2012, this team ain't no mirage.
Don't get me started on the Notre Dame versus the national championship game that year. Obviously head to head means nothing when you win, if your name is Notre Dame. I also bring up the Miami national championship in at 7 I think, when Miami beat Notre Dame head to head and then was awarded the national championship because of head-to-head wins. You always get screwed when you're the Irish.
The pass interference call was accurate, I wasn't happy about it, but I saw it so I lived with the results. What kind of made me a little bit frustrated with that if you watch the film, an FSU player actually removed his helmet while on the field. That should have also brought a flag, though it was missed. Game should not have been over on that play, instead the Irish should have had one more chance at 4th down. What could have happened?
