i really didn't think it was a catch, the defender is ripping at the ball as he's coming down and it pops out before he hits the ground

I still can't get over how bad that onside kick was, I could tell last week that our front line was leaving way too early and was ripe for an onside kick. The fact that our coaching staff didn't fix that this week in practice is inexcusable. Our play calling on the third series was terrible too, normally I think play calling is just a convenient excuse, but running play action on 2nd and 25 when you haven't ran a single play from under center the entire game is just asking to get your quarterback hurt.

And that was clearly an incomplete pass, Hammond and Haden just shockingly don't know the rules and they cut the replay off before it came free every time.

This has all the making of a Charlie Weis special, terrible defense for starters, taking something that was working and abandoning it for no reason other than to get cute and prove how smart he is by running the wildcat, terrible special teams, it's really all there. There's no reason we shouldn't have scored touchdowns every single drive, but there we are.

There is no reason we shouldn't have 35 points right now, what does Clausen have, one dropped incompletion? I don't understand anything about this team, they change their identity from drive to drive depending on Weis's mood. The defense can't stop anyone (except for Nevada somehow), the special teams suck, this is just a team that is woefully underperforming their talent level.

Which is why it's so mind boggling that Weis insists on taking the ball out of his hands so much, if I remember correctly this whole Wildcat fad started because Casey Dix was the worst quarterback in football. Sure, it's nice when it works, but at the cost of making our star quarterback completely ineffective on play actions since we never take the time to set up normal runs.
