Domers,

Unfortunately, I have a feeling that you will beat MSU. Then, it will be back to the slobbering love and affection for ND football. MSU doesn't have Javon Ringer or Brian Hoyer back. The Spartans will probably play above their heads but, this time MSU just isn't as good as last year. ND is a lot better as well.

That's why I was asking earlier about the split (Mich/Mich St.). I expected ND to split those two games but, I couldn't figure out which one ND was most likely to win.

The more I read and reflect the more it becomes clear that we were cheated. MSU will tell us if the team quits or not. I have a feeling that they're going to rally and light up MSU big time.

You guys really should light them up. I'm just going to root for hilarity either way.

"Upon further review of WNDU's own video footage, Armando Allen appears to indeed have stepped out of bounds on an early touchdown in the 1st quarter of Saturday's loss to Michigan that was overturned by officials after review."

but here's the best part:

"No camera angle shown by ABC/ESPN showed anything conclusive enough to actual overturn the call.

So, regardless of the fact that Allen was actually out, the call probably should have stood as a touchdown."

as if the only footage the booth has available are the two angles that the viewing audience got, LOL

So, in summary: He was OOB. We know he was OOB. We have visual confirmation that he was OOB. However, it should not have been overturned and we got screwed.

LOL domers

It's funny how hard you have to try and make yourself feel that there was no luck involved in that win. I'm just glad Michigan has joined ND in the fallen giants category. Time after time you all make it very apparent how far your beloved program has fallen.

I recommend putting that bacon between a couple of donuts and maybe drizzling a pint or so of maple syrup over the top.

Any updates on Floyd's injury status?

I thought the guy was OOB and didn't understand the announcer chirping about it being inconclusive. After the game I saw the game day thread and the consensus that the replays were inconclusive surprised me. I figured I had somehow imagined the foot on the line and was wrong.

So now there is an article saying that the replays shown on television were inconclusive-- but I'm putting my foot down. I think what they failed to do was to slow the best angle down, freeze it at the critical moment, have both announcers scream, "Right THERE!", and draw a yellow circle around it.

What I'm saying, is, man, they showed that angle. Once. And quickly.

I think 1 out of the 100 people in the gameday thread that thought it was a bad overturn would have caught it like you did Shemp. I could be wrong but it was as overwhelming an opinion as you can find on 2p2 after everyone saw the TV replays.

The consensus convinced me I was blinded by my anti-Domerism. I think there was one holdout, a UM fan. I thought, well, he (we) can't be right.

I am amused by the same WNDU reporter who wrote of their (exclusive?) proof that he was OOB also wrote: "Upon further review, our WNDU cameras got a very good angle that shows Armando may in fact have stepped out." (emphasis mine)

And I remain skeptical that they had an entirely separate feed and cameras and that their crack staff poured over footage not used in the broadcast. I do not know enough about how these events are produced but that looks like BS.

Actual quote FWIW:

The second quote comes from an article about poor officiating. I'm suggesting he put in a little wiggle room with the "may" because it served his purpose for that article. And I'm also claiming BS on the origins of the video.

1st off. Do even the M homers think that an identical play would have been overturned by the big10 replay officials if M had scored?

It turns out that this Referee had been complained about before in a close game between Illinois and Michigan. I heard about it at the time and that he lived in Ann Arbor!? Trying to find a link for that.

EDIT: ndnation took down a bunch of posts. F me for waiting until today.

My goodness. Is it really hard to concede that any competent review official would have looked at the correct picture, stopped it at the appropriate time, and zoomed in to the point where any doubt was removed.

I appreciate that the television broadcast didn't adequately do this. But now that you have seen the photo, how in the world can you not let this go?

edit to add: The mystery isn't how the official got it right, it is how poorly the TV broadcast covered it.

IIRC, television shows the views the officials are looking at.
I don't think it was correct to overturn the call. I think the standard should be higher to overturn anything.

Regardless, I'm happy that the correct call did take place.
