Man, you really think so? That defense is so good. If Wimbush doesn’t spaz out and hand the ball to your opponent (which he tried his best to do tonight!) you’ll be fine.

Also, careful not to hype your DEs too much. That LT was literally the worst OT I’ve seen Michigan roll out there. Total disaster. We’ve got some talented freshmen who the coaches clearly didn’t want to blood in on the road in that atmosphere but I don’t think we’ve got a choice now.

Game delivered the quota of stupid ****. More of it went in your favor tonight. We’re still paying off the second mortgage we took out for the horseshoe that Hoke jammed up his ass in that goddamn 2011 season

i didn't notice many issues other than brian polian continuing to be the worst coordinator in the history of cfb

polian seems like a lock to lose us a game this year

I am little concerned going fwd that the offense is basically just BW's legs. And the usual suspects like special teams.

Not too concerned with a hangover for Ball St. 2008 would have been scary with Hoke's Men of Muncie undefeated while Charlie's team quit mid-October

The hangover is confirmed real.

Undoubtedly this was Wimbush's fault, in BK's mind

One of them was Boykin's fault. Plus the line misses blocks all the time. Yes we know whose fault it is that we're lacking at every position.

Feels like 2012 all over again...I doubt our luck lasts as long as that year, though

We're also in that nightmare goldilocks zone of the team looking awful, but not losing enough for Kelly to get fired

I think the irish fans are smitten with the new Book because of Wake Friggin Forest. We were told that both qbs would play, and I think BK held Wimbush out so we wouldn't see that he could have easily racked up the points as well. Hopefully BK won'tbe stubborn if we have 6 points going into the 4th qtr.

I like the move. Opens up much much more of the offense.

Total domination of the Trees. And I for one look forward to jobbing to Bama in the Playoffs.

I think our playoff equity just limped off with Bars. Hope I'm as wrong about him as with Wimbush.

It hurts but isn’t fatal. Ruhland is a solid replacement, and our excellent O line recruiting means our depth is OK. Will see how the line holds up this weekend.

Did anyone checkto see if Tarean Folston was wearing Dexter Williams' number? I don't recall DW carrying a pile of Trees before.

For all the negative stuff we get about Kelly every year here we are again in October with highly relevant games ahead.

the beginning of the season felt like 2012, barely beating 3 teams in a row

but we've just given the business to three opponents in a row, and this defense seems to get stronger as the games wear on

this team is for real, for real...hopefully our DL stays healthy this year.

lol lloyd, we've had 8 years of mediocrity with only mere flashes here and there of being a great team under brian kelly. i think it is highly, highly unlikely that BK magically figured it out all this year. and if you need evidence of that, look no further than our debacle of a special teams unit.

what has changed is Clark Lea as DC and Chip Long calling plays for a very good QB. If Book was able to hit a couple more of those long passes he missed, we could've beaten VaTech by 30+.

I remember 2012 as going up one score early and then trying to run out the clock, rinse wash repeat. It didn't seem to matter if the opp was a BCS bowl team or an also ran.

He puts together a competitive season every couple of years. The limitations he works with relative to the teams he's trying to compete with haven't magically gone away. I don't personally understand the desire to constantly look at the glass half empty exhibited by some on here. The blood is on the early pages of this thread stretching back over a decade ago. If you'd offered me the 2012, 2015, 2017 seasons back in 2007 - 2009 we'd all have taken it gleefully.

And here we are again competing for a national championship as the evenings darken. It's a great thing!
