That is life. What lloyd said about throwing a high% pass is still true. Or the large number of chances we had to lock it up earlier.

Meh, at the end of the day I think it is perfectly legitamite to gripe about the recalled TD. It was an absolutely shocking beyond belief call. And you can talk about it being 4 points (in a 4 point game), but the reality is that its significance is more than 4 points.

The TD stands, the crowd is quietened at 7 - 7, doubt creeps into the mind of Michigan earlier, the momentum swings to ND earlier. It could have been the difference between a 14 point and 6 point lead at HT. And yeah, this is all speculation, impossible to prove, etc. But the difference in atmosphere on the sideline and the stands before and after the call was reversed is something tangible that we all witnessed. That kind of thing can't be simply weighed as a cold 4 points at the end of a game.

Intensely irritating.

This is a sad day for me, and not for the reasons some might think. First, gotta give credit where it is due, Forcier played an outstanding game and one I didn't think a freshman could pull off, even at home. His inexperience almost caught up to him but he regained his composure and pulled out the win. Kudos to him, looks like he has a big future. The officiating was horrible but not the reason ND lost.

Today was the day I finally realized Charlie Weis cannot coach college football, period, end of story, done. Unlike the pros where everybody is the best of the best, in college ball when you find an advantage like ND had at the wideouts vs D-backs, you exploit that until their eyes bleed. #33 for Michigan couldn't cover Tate or Floyd with a blanket and Weis waited until they were down by 11 twice to go to these guys. You keep running it until Michigan adjusts , then you get Rudolph down the seam all day. Remember him, a couple big play early, then the bull**** holding call that erased a 72 yd gain, but Weis NEVER went back to him. What he did on their last possession is inexcusable. ND takes over with 3:21 left and Michigan has all their timeouts. He gives it back to them with 2:20 left and still 2 timeouts. That cannot happen. Allen got hurt and Fatboy did not have enough confidence in Hughes or Gray to just run the ball. So when ND sacks Forcier, instead of being able to call timeout, the clock continues to run and now the freshman has to either spike the ball or make a play in a rushed situation on second and long. Great game , Congrats Michigan, Goodbye you fat ****ing, crippled legged, gastric bypass, self proclaimed genius, slimeball in a sea of pus, mother****ing over rated douchebag. Thanks guys for letting me get this out./rant

tl/dr and all that ****.

I wouldn't worry, the percentage probability that he is head coach of ND for the first game of the 2010 season dropped dramatically with 11 seconds left on the clock in today's game.

Okay, retracted with apologies. But the non caps paragraph quoted is at least borderline!

I love this game because we won, yet we still gave Charlie Weis a chance to hold on to his job.

Seriously though, who's the coach for next year?

No true ND fans ever said "This is the year." We certainly were optimistic, and considering we began the season ranked in the top 25, a BCS bowl was certainly a possibility, but most fans knew we would have to slightly overachieve to accomplish that.

Next year, however, might really be "the year".

I'd say, barring a truly horrible season, its still Weis. Better question is what record do they need to have to get Weis canned? Personally I still think they go 9-3 or better and he stays.

I don't think things get really toxic in ND until/unless a bad loss at home.
