Is it true that A-Rod needed a cyst removed?
Hmmm, I wonder if this is from where is cousin shot him with the Boli.

A-Rod gone for 10 weeks.

Here are the options as I see them, in order of most probable to least probable:

1. Yanks sign Mark Grudz to play 3B for a month and a half.
2. Yanks trade for someone average to play 3B for a month and a half.
3. Cody Ransom, Angel Berroa or Eric Duncan play 3B.
4. Tex or Swisher covers 3rd while the other covers 1st.
5. Hank Steinbrenner plays 3B.

If Swish could play third that would be pretty sweet but I doubt he'd be even passable.

Per Sweeny on WFAN, Cashman said certain surgical options (and they have yet to decide what route they'll take) could mean up to 4 months out.

according to this link theyre trying to avoid surgery. i guess we'll see.

if he's gonna be out for an extended period of time, you could trade for someone like a beltre who is in a contract year.

I wonder if Jeter wasnt so bad if we could plausibly get away with Swisher at Third.

only 9 years left on his deal!

/troll

I never root for injuries but the deal he signed was so crazy the Yankees had to know this was a probability, they just figured it would happen in his age 40 season not his age 34 season

I dunno. Sounds like something that will linger even after the eventual surgery.

Both signed at 31, both will be plagued by steroid related injuries, both will be disappointing and both will be underrated ldo

Does anyone else feel like they'd be better off if he had surgery now and came back for the second half of the season instead of risking him needing surgery in a few months and missing the end of the season?

blah blah, joke about the Yankees being better off if ARod only plays the first half of the season, blah blah.

The more I read about this the more angry I'm getting.

Quote:
Kevin Long, the Yankees' hitting coach, said he knew Rodriguez had a hip problem last June or July. Long noticed subtle changes in Rodriguez's hitting, notably in his right foot, the back one in his stance.
What the ****! Why wasn't anything done about this during the offseason? Did ARod tell the team he was fine? Did the team know about the injury and not do anything? Did they have him checked out and the doctor missed the injury? Jesus, I'm so pissed off about this.
