Am I the only one that is really pissed about Girardi not at least letting him finish the 6th? He is dealing like I've never seen in the starter role, outside possibility for the ultimate honor, and you take him out with less than 110 pitched. I'm pissed right now.

yea i mean makes no sense to take him out w 2 outs after those 2 ab's if he gives up hard hits or is wild fine. but if ur gonna do that dont even send him out for the 6th imo

the ultimate honor? wtf is that? are you guys nuts - do you think he's going to leave him in for a shot at a consecutive K record, or for the 20 strikeout record?

Good job taking him out.

Joba was getting a bunch of calls on outside corner to LH's looks like

Give him a chance to finish the 6th and go into the 7th to possibly pitch a 1,2,3 inning with the way he's pitching. I hate the way they baby him (and others) with the 100 pitch count.

ZOMG, HE CROSSED THE 100 BORDER TAKE HIM OUT NOW!!11!!

I meant finishing the game, a complete game... Obviously everyone disagrees.

LOL @ 20 Ks. Would be awesome, but I'm not THAT crazy.

i am going to go out on a limb and play tercet's advocate.

clearly joba is an elite reliever. he starts and sucks in the first inning, relieves himself in the second, and throws 4.2 shutout innings with 12 Ks. clearly he is more valuable as a reliever. just have him relieve pedro in the second while down 7-0 and pitch 6 shutout innings from then on.

I assumed give him at a chance at a win, though I guess I was wrong. That's a lot less of a dumb reason, though still dumb. Still pretty stupid to put him out for 2 more batters, doesn't really make sense.

Totally agree with Girardi pulling him. The Yankees obviously have him on a scientific pitch count, and I've read plenty of articles to convince me that once you hit that red zone SIGNIFICANT damage is done, especially to young pitchers.

So why put have him start the 6th?

because he was a good for 10-12ish more pitches?

Bringing him out for the 6th is questionable, wanting him to pitch the 7th in the rain is pretty crazy.

I am intrigued about your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter (or read these articles... seriously, where can I find these articles?)
