Numerous. Most of them irrational, some of them valid. Like complaining about salary caps and how much the Yankees spend when the Marlins (and possibly Pirates) are the cancer of baseball.

The city sucks balls, too. Expensive, freezing, and the people there suck. The same can be said about most of the northeast, though.

And it's full of bandwagoners. Though, realize that I come from a city that hasn't won **** and has been continually bad beated and stepped on for decades. I have a right to be ornery and angry at life.

LOL. If true, this is like... 10x better.

Brian Bruney: "This is the first spring training I've actually been excited."

Nick Swisher: The word 'man' used at least 4 times during the mini-interview, ending with "pop champagne".

I think I'd still tap Nancy Newman. I don't care that she's like 60 or whatever.

Man, I ain't saying the women in Cleveland are good-looking. Far from it. But people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

It was just a line from the Drew Carey theme song, and it's fun giving you a hard time.

Yeah yeah, I figured you were parlaying it into an insult on Cleveland women.

BTW I'm sure DC women are much better.

I missed this before, I really don't like the Yankees, but this would be a most excellent title.

What's this about? The Yankees finished 7th in the MLB in bullpen ERA last year. I also offered bets(that I would have won) that nobody accepted. So basically you say I'm wrong, don't back up your mouth with any money, then I'm shown to be right, then a year later you act like I'm the moron. Nice.

Agreed, Swisher is the man. The Yankees need to keep their depth, especially with their age.

Did you mean accounts or posts? Heck most of the Yankees posters are trolls.

I would offer bets but you will just back down/make fun of me later when you're wrong.

and rivera walked 6 men last year.
Nice, thanks for learning him good. He doesn't seem worthy of long responses though IMO

All good as long as we get to title our thread "Toronto Blue Jays 2009: At worst we'll still be better than the Orioles".

Mind you, I'm not totally sure that's true. FML.

I am. The Oriole rotation is made up of random dudes they pull off the street in Baltimore.

I'm sure John Henry would agree with you. I doubt that he likes that his rev sharing contributions have just been pocketed anymore than Steinbrenner likes it.

for someone who is so staunchly capitalist, don't you see the problem with the thinking that a place could "suck balls" but yet be expensive? how is that possible? if it sucked as a place to live the market would surely reflect this.

I mean, we've been over this before. I got no problem with you hating Boston or the Red Sox or whatever, I just think that all your reasons are irrational, not some of them. I hate the Yankees with passion but really have no rational reason for that feeling, and that's fine.

you could think that a share of GOOG is worthless b/c some new company is going to pop up tomorrow and crush them, but the market is saying you're pretty wrong - they are very valuable for all kinds of reasons. it maybe worthless to you for whatever reasons you have but your opinion is pretty clear wrong on any objective scale.

Huh? Have you ever taken an economics class? You have no idea what you're talking about. That Boston is overpopulated and expensive doesn't necessarily mean it is objectively a "great" city; it means that resources are scarce and they are overconsumed at a rate that drives the prices up. That people will pay to live there does not necessarily make it objectively "awesome."
New York Yankees: 27-Time World Champions Quote

and why are resources here scarce? b/c lots of people choose to live here for various reasons. if people really deemed it overpriced they would move somewhere else.

I have my MBA, though it's from a school here so it may also be worthless or overpriced
