So Joba is going to pitch the 7th, Hughes the 8th, while Mitre and Igawa are starting? I thought they would just skip starts with Joba down the stretch and keep him in the rotation.

I love O'Neill, but he's got to be semi-******ed, right?

could the yankees switch them?

also yes, o'neill is not the brightest guy, it's pretty clear. but he's still awesome.

Who knows what they'll do, but I doubt just skipping him a few times is an option. He's never thrown more than 110 innings and he's going to be over 100 after tonight.

Obviously starting Igawa isn't an option.

Ajax, Montero, Melky and some other dude for Halladay...Hughes and Joba to the pen, playoff rotation of CC, Roy, AJ. That'd be fun.

Yeah, that would make sense, but I'm thinking they'll be afraid to do that after Joba got hurt last year.

Definitely. A little bit of a modern Phil Rizzuto.

I could really go for a blowout win tonight. It would be nice to get Robertson, Melancon and Bruney in the game and give the other guys a night off.

Has an announcer ever excitedly said, "Nice piece of hitting there!" after a three-run homer?

Come on, it can't be possible that a hitter intentionally swings and misses at a pitch early in a game so he gets the same pitch later. This is utter nonsense, right?
