Did you guys read Joe P in SI today? He made a funny joke about being forced to listen to Steve Phillips tell you how to be a GM for 2 months. Even the good writers know Phillips sucks.

Posnanski is so great. I'm really happy that he's finally getting national recognition.

I never heard of him until like a year ago and that was because of this forum. How does a guy like that stay under the radar? It's not like he's 25 and just getting into the business.

How does Steve Philips have a job? Some people are born with a luckbox. Most aren't.

I just noticed the Mets thread has more posts than the this one. What do they talk about over there? Probably this:

Quote:
The New York Mets plan to investigate reports that vice president of player development Tony Bernazard challenged members of their Double-A Binghamton affiliate to fight him during a postgame tirade.

“We do take these matters seriously and we are going to investigate these reports,” general manager Omar Minaya said Wednesday before the Mets finished a three-game series at Washington. “We need to follow up and we plan on doing that.”

The New York Daily News, citing unidentified sources, reported Wednesday that Bernazard, while visiting the Binghamton Mets early this month, removed his shirt during a clubhouse meeting with players, then challenged them to fisticuffs.
Nice use of "fisticuffs."

I actually was just there discussing this very same thing cause I heard it on Francesa's show after the Yankee game. It's a nice thread, you should visit some time. Just dont be a troll or a douchebag. It's not like you catch teh aidz if you enter another team thread.

I'd rather not risk it.

Plus, I have absolutely nothing of value to add to a Mets discussion. Not that I really add anything of value to Yankees discussions either.

Since I don't have a game to keep me entertained at work, I have no choice but to make up trade rumors.

Melky and prospects* for Matt Holliday and Michael Wuertz.

* Zach McAllister and someone else in the minors besides Jackson or Montero? I'm really bad at figuring out what is fair value with prospects.

Way to gay it up by paying attention to the mets, or the entire NL for that matter.

Clearly you missed thundercat arguing that Texas lineup rivals That of the Yankees. Or something to that effect.

Wow, with today's win, we are 20 games over .500 for the first time since 2007. Pretty crazy.

I still can't get over the fact that we are 0-8 against Boston. Let's say it's split 4-4, that means the Yanks have a 6 game lead assuming Boston loses tonight.

Has anybody else besides me been really annoyed at the YES radar gun. For the last few games the thing doesn't seem to be able to register a pitch below 90 or so MPH. It was annoying as hell watching Rich Hill's 65MPH slow as **** slurve registering at 93. The fastballs seem to be registering correctly but who knows if it can't get the other pitches right. And then today in the later innings they just turned the F'in thing off.

I know it's not that big of a deal but seeing what speeds pitchers are throwing is really interesting to me to see how hard they are throwing that day and the speed differential on their pitches. It also helps me decipher what pitch was thrown since Kay almost never has a freakin clue.

I mean, it's not that difficult a technology. Somebody sits behind the plate with a radar gun, plugs the gun into a computer, and bam. Wrong for 1 game fine, but it's been like a week, and the things seems to go on the fritz all the time.

/pointless rant.

The YES radar gun is completely meaningless at this point.
