So my stepfather calls me yesterday and said something about obstructed views at Yankee Stadium and had I heard about this and to look into it (I don't think he knows what Google is). I did a search and came across this:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/04/sp...bleachers.html

I also searched this thread for the word "obstructed" before posting this so I don't rehash something that's been discussed. If it has been my apologies, but I agree that spending $1B on a stadium and then having 1048 seats partially obstructing one outfield or the other to be pretty lol.

So psyched for today. I forget how excited I get for opening day, and having a fantasy draft this past weekend got me even more energized. Yanks are winning the division this year, especially since A-Rod's return date was just moved up to late April.

Also, I hate rain this time of year.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY

I live a couple hours southwest of Baltimore at the moment and the skies are clear here. Baltimore SHOULD be clear by 4PM.

what's more lol is that every single one of those seats will be filled just about every game this season.

it depends on how obstructed the seat is, but i don't think it's a huge deal. baseball is better on TV anyway - i go to the park for the atmosphere.

mets fans are bitching about sight lines in their stadium too, fwiw.

Oh I'm sure they will, no question. And if they didn't before, people will eventually find out that they are obscured seats and if they still choose to buy them then caveat emptor. Still think it's funny they thought having a sports bar obscure that many seats was a good idea but whatever.

I just did a search on the team site/ticketmaster for bleacher seats for random summer games. All the results came back empty.

Here's your best bet. I do this every year. A lot of ticket scalpers/resellers buy up season tickets to get the "premium" games (Saturday day, Red Sox, Mets, etc). Thus they get stuck with "non-premium" tickets that they need to move. Look for games Tuesday-Thursday, and you can often times pick them up at near face value. Hell, I used to purchase Wednesday day games during the summer from resellers for UNDER face value.

Craigslist, day of game. Always a lot of tix available, and many below face for non-premium games.

Nice choice by the O's to play Beck's "Loser" over the PA while introducing their own team support staff members.
