On the other hand, a lot of guys needing extensions in the next few years are Sandy drafted, so maybe he’ll feel more attached to them. Plus we’ve never seen how Sandy might act with a larger checkbook. He’s basically made a career of building teams on small to medium budgets.
Outbid for Springer, never even tried to sign Realmuto, and I'm not even sure what happened with Bauer. If Mets aren't able to extend Lindor, there's really nothing they did this off-season that the Wilpons couldn't have done. The only thing Cohen has brought the Mets so far is another financial scandal.
