Who knew it was possible to feel this miserable after beating Scherzer and Strasburg back to back? This team is full of surprises.

"Possible strained lat" in Mets-speak = torn UCL/ACL/MCL/PCL

How the **** is it possible that a "tired arm" or "biceps tendinitis" as diagnosed by this cracked medical staff is now a partially torn lat? And they allowed him to pitch? I mean, even M. Donald Grant thinks the Mets' medical staff is incompetent.

Because the lat was probably fine until he over-compensated for the other issues. This is Syndergaard's fault for refusing the MRI, but he's a big dumb kid, so mostly it's Sandy's fault.

The players are supposed to want to play. It's up to the medical professionals to make these types of decisions.

Unfortunately, the Mets don't employ medical professionals. They've been woefully incompetent at handing injuries for over a decade.

Unless you have medical knowledge that you can share, the idea that the lat injury did not exist until sometime in his one inning plus yesterday seems very doubtful.

And if it's because he has been overcompensating for a while, then it's hard to believe there was no sign of the injury when they examined him previously, it's hard to believe that they weren't aware that he had been battling something for a while, and it's utterly incredible that they didn't tell him MRI or DL, your choice.

Francesa, through doctors in the field but with no specific knowledge of the injury, is suggesting 10-12 weeks for Syndergaard.

Some fantasy people I follow in twitter are saying 6-8 weeks.

So we'll probably see him again in 2019 or something like that.

Almost to the point of renaming them Wilson, Pulsipher, and Isringhausen.

They'll bring him back in 8 weeks and he'll reinjure it.

Might as well get everyone surgery and tank the season. It's over.

He probably just over-compensated that start. I'm not a doctor, but I play one in this thread and stayed at a Holiday Inn once. It's common knowledge that this is how a lot of serious pitcher injuries occur because a smaller injury ****s up their mechanics. Someone like him, who throws 100 mph, more damage done.

I do have a bit of a connection to occasional inside baseball stuff. I'll try to find out, but doubt I'll get an answer to this one. Thor isn't "one of his guys", but I can try to get some second or third hand information on what happened.

That would be awesome, provided it furthers the narrative of "Mets Medical Staff Sucks". Not interested in anything that makes them look OK.

PS, on top of everything else, Jizzleman sucks.

Most of the stuff I hear is stuff that seems like it should be pretty common knowledge or easily guessed. Yeah, I've heard a couple of cases where guys where upset with ownership, management or medical staff, but it's usually nothing you can't guess. Like, I knew for sure Murph really wanted to come back and even made his agent go back to the Mets several times up to almost the day he signed. That's why it gets to me when Mets fans boo the guy now.

I'll rarely ask for specific information though because I don't feel comfortable posting a lot of stuff I'm told second or third hand, that some of it is told in confidence and some I can't even be sure it's true.

The one funny one, since he's no longer in the league, is that we may have had a pretty prominent pitcher, who at one point used to drink during games he was pitching. I can't verify whether that was true or not though.

His FIP 'BEFORE' this game was 5.53. Even in his "good" starts he was clearly getting lucky, so kinda saw this coming, he's actually been worse this year than last year now. Both in predictive stats and actual stats. He strikes no one out, and gives up a ton of homers.

From 2010-2014 I watched like 10 games total. For some reason I got back into it and it's just the same as it ever was.

Mets have won 3 of 5. That's a .600 winning %. Why does it feel like they've lost 10 in a row.

Also, was barely paying attention tonight, but good God these umpires! Couldn't call it on the bases and just look at this strike zone:
