The team isn't bad overall "at least not yet"... record and games back are what start fan mob mentality and get a coach fired as a sacrifice to the gods.

So in short, the teams pitching is the reason the hitting coach hasn't been fired.

Mets draft a pitcher in the first round.

I mean I guess they're preparing for one of the big three pitchers to leave via FA in a couple of years and the MLB draft is just BAP straight through but still. There had to be a viable OF or 3B there.

I think the Yankees took the guy they wanted one pick before. Metsblog said they were looking at 3B, but basically you just take best available in baseball because you never know what you're going to need by the time they're ready.

Just Wright, Conforto, Duda, Walker, D'Arnaud injured right now. 2,3,5,6,8 in the lineup. Johnson and Loney batting 4th and 5th is exactly what I envisioned in the middle of June.
