I get that he is bad at throwing people out but how much is it on our pitching staff at the same time holding runners on? I feel like a few of our guys have longer motions from the stretch. I always think about it with QB's that take a lot of sacks. The initial blame goes to the offensive line a lot of times but it could also be the QB(like Roethlisberger) that tend to hold onto the ball forever.
Maybe we should recognize that Kansas city had the timing figured out , they have elite speed to begin with and once you add what they empathize and scout methodically (stealing seven against the A's was no fluke ) , they will make average throwing catchers look bad.
MLB Trade Rumors projects Harvey, who is earning $614,625 this season and won’t be eligible for free agency until 2019, to earn $4.7 million through arbitration. Duda is projected to earn $6.8 million and Familia is projected to earn $3.3 million. The trio combined to earn just $5.5 million in 2015.
Sigh......Mets really don't want Murphy back. Guess it's all about the money they save with Walker, but they just want a one year stop game until Herrera. They need someone who can cover 3rd too, which is why I'd rather have Murphy than Walker. They're both pretty much equal overall (both are above average offensive players with bad gloves), but Murphy can play more positions and doesn't cost you pitching depth.
Mets gonna get Neil Walker straight up for Jon Niese.
Walker not an upgrade over Murphy though they save a few million in 2015 and Walker is only a one-year commitment. Plus, Niese has been falling off over the last few years. Good deal.
Will Venable is being considered which would be lolbad. Venable is ****.

As of now, unless there's a trade, they seem to want to keep all 4 of them. Flores and Tejada may play vs LHP.
Reminds me of The Simpsons episode where Mr. Burns is coaching the company softball team and sends Homer to pinch hit for Darryl Strawberry under the logic of "playing the percentages".
Mets could have easily come up with the Heyward contract. Probably still woulda chose Cubs though cause everybody loves Maddon. Wonder who's going to be the first player with a huge deal and an opt out every season...Bryce Harper?
