FYI, Oliver Perez with an era of 16.62.

I just do not understand for the life of me how someone cannot get it.
Ollie does not lack in talent, he lacks in between the ears.
Not sure if its a question of mental toughness or what, but the Mets invested a lot in this guy. He had better come around.

Rant over.

um he wasnt just bad. He was awesome, then terrible, first start of the yr is as standard as ever, I see nothing wrong with being ticked off about it, just as i will be every time this yr he does this, which will probably be 1/2 his starts.

Who's left on the bench to PH for the pitcher in the 9th? Just castillo and sheff right?

feliciano is so awful, 7 pitches to get 2 outs so terrible. lefty lefty matchups are not looking good this year

Are we sure that wasn't castillo in a Sheffield suit?

Gah, can't seem to limit the damage in some of the innings of the last 2 games. At least pelf settled down, don't know what to say about ollie other than we'll be seeing more of this. Hopefully a lot more good than bad. I don't even if he can really limit the amount of free passes he gives out. That 2 BB + homer was brutal.

Decent job by the pen, if only day hadn't given up that hit after getting the 2nd out, but woulda shoulda blah blah blah.

2/3 on the road is never a bad thing, and its not like this was a laugher in the slightest

not dissapointed at 2 out of 3 on the road. i am a bit concerned about perez, this was not a tough reds lineup today.

Yeah taking 2 of 3 was fine of course. If they can take 2 of 3 from Florida practically nobody will remember this game (until Ollie inevitably pulls his two-face routine again).

Also, I'm not concerned or even worried about Ollie. This has been his M.O. for his entire career and we've all seen this too many times to count already. He'll probably go seven strong with 10 K's in his next start. That's the way he is. I will admit that it is endlessly frustrating to watch these types of games he has over and over and over again.

youre right. should have. no doubt.

but look on the bright side, ollie is going to win the cy young!

ill take that 50-1...and ill put up a dollar.

if ollie pitches a no hitter his next two outings, his ERA will be about 100th in the league

smiglet, you cannot really believe he is going to win 15 games, let alone the cy young

If maine pitches well tomorrow, im still confident in this team, but i have zero confidence in Perez at all. It was an awful signing by minaya who thinks he struck lightning in a bottle by getting him thrown into the Nady trade and fell in love with him even though the rest of the front office preferred lowe

i hope he can turn it around, but if he cant, they better eat it and move on

I am (almost) considering praying to God that Maine does well. He's so key and is the only starter I'm not sure what to expect of. Please to be figuring out an out pitch and keep the pitch count low. plz plz plz.
