I strongly suspect Dantoni is the only person on the planet that doesn't realize his offensive system needs a legit PG with high basketball IQ.

Shumpert made us look legit for majority of the game and can probably play even better given time.

Still, I am not 100% sold on him. Offense still looked awkward and I still find it really hard to believe he could improve his shooting so much in just a few months.

we need to learn how to finish off wins. 4th quarter in wins vs washington and charlotte were a joke, and had to fight em off till the final seconds.

Their whole gameplan for 4th quarters is ******ed. Hey! lets protect our few bucket lead by posting up Carmelo 22 feet away and having him go 1 on 4 while refusing to pass the ball all quarter!

I know he's super talented but he just needs to raise his bball IQ. Aside from the Christmas day game Melo has been aids in the fourth quarter. Idk whether to blame him or the coaches, but it's a mess.

We really don't have plenty of scoring though.

There is also a lot more iso league wide in high leverage spots.

The offense does get stagnant I agree. It isn't as simple as Melo won't pass the ball though. It's really hard to get open looks for guys in this spots of the game without a good point guard.

Fwiw Melo is +6 in clutch time.

He's our best option till Baron Davis comes back.

Even after Baron Davis comes back, Shumpert is the de facto backup PG, probably clocking 15~20 minutes as the PG.

I mean do you really want Baron Davis playing 30+ minutes a game?

can you imagine shumpert playing like this under like larry brown or any other half decent coach? he'd get insta shipped to the nbdl.
