Works out from a numbers perspective, but NO would be getting raped from a competitive aspect. Can ye throw in picks as well? I mean, while it would leave them under the cap from 2011 on, it wouldn't even leave them room for a max contract, and they would be trading away their all world piece and solid big man.
Gallinari is obviously more attractive because he has upside, but even adding him to the mix doesn't make this attractive enough for NO.
The roster for this season could be ~40 wins, and ~27m comes off the books at the end of this season with:
Felton
Mozgov
Amare
Walker
What is signed longer term. Things look good and flexible at present. No bad contracts beyond this season, loads of cap room to work with, ability to get into the playoffs now.
New thread title is misplaced imo!
