We just signed this guy: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/...y-Mozgov-5161/

23 yrs old
7'1
"built like a house"
extremely atheltic, but raw offensively
"Like a Russion DJ Mbenga"

3 yrs, $9 million. Seems like a decent pickup, hopefully he turns out better than every other 6'10+ Euro guy we have signed.

Looking so foward to next year and even more so the year after. Thing we will do decent this year. Got rid of the cancer that is Harrington. Stop going 1 on 5 and trying to be lebron

Lets please give Bill Walker the ball more. everytime he touches it good things happen. Same thing with Douglas, but with Felton on the roster (Who is a great addition) this wont happen. Obv Gallo needs to get the ****ing ball too. idk, the whole team was filled with too much al harrington ball hogging jesus

Obv I would love to sneak into the playoffs, but i could just be a blind fan like I have been the last decade. 2011 - the future

knicks 100-90 loss to the nuggets summer league

THE GOOD

Toney Douglas did what Toney Douglas do. His jumper is silky smooth and effortless, even from 30 ft. out. He snuck into the passing lane a few times and converted a really acrobatic and-one on the break on the way to amassing 27 points, 6 boards and a couple of steals. As far as PG skills, eh. I counted at least four occasions where he missed a cutter in the lane. His tendency, still, is to look for his own shot first. The Felton signing, though, will allow him to be a score-first PG off the bench – the role he’s really best suited for.

Landry Fields has a really nice nose for the ball and tends to play within himself (Wow. I’m really starting to master the use of these bball/sportswriting clichés. It’s like sticking a hatpin in your cerebral cortex. Stuff writes itself!) Where was I? Oh yeah, Fields Landry or whomever looks like a nice small forward, though nothing about his game jumps off the page. His jumping, ironically, does.

THE BAD

Andy Rautins sure was channeling his inner Eddie House today. Like Free Eddie, he shot with utter impunity but aside from a stretch in the 3rd, was laying serious bricks. During the regular season, unless he’s Steve Kerr-ing it at a 40% or better clip, it’s hard to see him getting a lot of pt.

Jerome Jordan – It’s still hard to avoid typing Jerome James – is raw. He is both big and tall and long and those things tend to come in handy. Aside from that, it was hard to tell what the skill-set he brings to the court might be.

THE UGLY

Tweet! Bill Walker just fouled somebody again. Aside from Asst. Coach Atkinson’s aforementioned sartorial splendor, the ugliest part of this afternoon’s tilt was the game that last year’s late-season find, Bill Walker had. He seems to have lost a lot of weight and with it his ability to play professional basketball. His jumper was strangely high-arced and he generally was sluggish and seemingly disinterested out there, leading to 9 fouls and 7 turnovers. Granted, game one, but the SL is a setting where a cat like Billy Sky Dubs should dominate.

to dream...

According to multiple sources who attended the wedding, which was held at Cipriani on 42nd St., the common theme among the best wishes to Melo and his new bride, television personality LaLa Vazquez, was that they should consider taking up permanent residence in New York and Carmelo should take the challenge LeBron passed on with the Knicks.

Then, with a less-than-pleased Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke in attendance, Chris Paul included in his address to the happy couple that he wanted to get Carmelo to go with him to join Amar'e Stoudemire with the Knicks "and form our own Big Three."

Donnie Walsh reads this thread..

The Knicks will explore the possibility of trading forward Wilson Chandler, according to a source familiar with the team's thinking.

New York could package Chandler with center Eddy Curry's expiring contract in order to acquire a outside-shooting big man.

Chandler has a contract the Knicks likely will move to be enough under the 2011 salary cap for a maximum contract.

Interesting developments...one time CP3?

What's Next In New Orleans: Yesterday the New Orleans Hornets came to a "mutual" agreement to part ways with GM Jeff Bower and while some are saying the decision was made several days ago, sources close to the situation say the decision was not reached yesterday, but it wasn't reached last week either.

Bowers' demise was ultimately his own.

According to sources, Bowers' stance on not trading star guard Chris Paul and a hardline stance on the subject ultimately cost him his job. That stance combined with what some have labeled as a "sour" relationship with Chris Paul ultimately ended Bowers' tenure with the team.

Paul has been extremely vocal about his unhappiness with where New Orleans is in terms of competing for a championship and Bower has done little in the eyes of ownership to defuse the situation in fact some say he's fanned the flames. The inability to get Paul on board was a huge issue with ownership.

The team has begun a search for a new General Manager there was a strong sentiment in Las Vegas yesterday that Chris Paul is now clearly on the trading block with some executives saying they expected him to be traded in the coming weeks.

Hornets sources warned not to read too much into the decision to remove Bower, with one Hornets' insider saying that the hope was a new GM might be able to bridge the divide with Paul and start to repair what's clearly become a broken relationship, however if that divide can't be closed it seems far more likely that the new GM will be faced with a tough decision… trade Paul now or wait for him to walk away in 2012.

Former Blazers' GM Kevin Pritchard has been mentioned as a possible replacement, and sources close to Pritchard said that he had not been contacted yet, but that he was likely a prime candidate mainly because he fits the described criteria perfectly… He is an established credible executive with a strong leadership style. He is an aggressive trader, and he has proven that he can extract good assets in deals.

The fact that Pritchard has a solid relationship with new Hornets' coach Monty Williams surely doesn't hurt his candidacy. And as one Western Conference executive joked "If Monty has any pull, Pritch should be the next guy…"

The Hornets have set no time table on replacing Bower, but it's expected to happen fairly quickly.

From there we'll see how Chris Paul responds, and that might be the most telling sign of his future. If Paul tosses his unwavering support behind a GM, the Hornets may not have to consider the next option and that's trading away their star player.

Knicks appear to be thinking correct with their starting lineup. Hahn predicted that Eddy Curry will be the opening day starting center lol, but this came out today.

Quote:
The agent for Timofey Mozgov was reportedly told that Eddy Curry, who is in the final season of his contract, will not receive playing time with the Knicks.

Mosgov's agent said that his client was guaranteed a spot on the Knicks' roster, as the backup to center Ronnie Turiaf.

Amar'e Stoudemire, whom the Knicks signed to a maximum-salary contract as a free agent, was apparently assured that he will be used in his natural position at power forward.
Looks like rotation should be:

PG - Felton/Douglas
SG - Azubuike/Walker
SF - Gallinari/Chandler
PF - Amare/Randolph
C - Turiaf/Mozgov

I like it, though I think Amare, Randolph, and Turiaf should all play similar minutes and Mozgov should be the one getting like 10-12 per game.

Did Curry actually think he was gonna get any playing time? lol

I hope Copstache moves away from his tendency to rotate only 8 players. I'd like to give players like Walker, Azubuike, Randolph, and Mozgov enough playing time to develop properly.
