New York Knicks: You trying to get the pipe? New York Knicks: You trying to get the pipe?

Amare/TP and Carmelo is an acceptable 2010. Not great, but for a Dolan run team, I'd totally take it.

Is it even doable?

All 3 are not doable this year, next year it would be feasable.

NYK had a second meeting with LeBron's representatives yesterday, LBJ was not in attendance - just his agents.

Cautiously optimistic so far, but if the Knicks do not sign anyone else this is awful.

It isn't awful. Even with just Amare they have a lot of flexibility to do something else.

I understand that, but what I meant was that Lee was 20 and 11 last year and Amare was 20 and 9 (rounding don't have exact numbers in front of me) and Lee would not have been 5 years 96 million.

Two main things. 1 is that they can sign and trade Lee for a piece. This isn't a given or maybe even the most likely scenario, but if they strike out on the other UFA, it is a big deal to have that option. If you sign Lee and strike out on Lebron/Wade (100% that is going to happen if Lee is all that is there), then you can't add anyone else of sizable not.

The second is that Amare will be much more attractive to getting other players to join than Lee would. This isn't quantifiable, and I'm not going to say it is a huge deal. But it matters, whether it is this year or next year.

Plus Amare is better.

Oh and I love how every single piece of media you read about the Knicks signing Amare it's that it was a desperate move. You know damn well if any other team signed him it would have been a stroke of genius.

With Sergio signing with Madrid, we're gonna see a ton of Toney Douglas this year. Like, 30+ minutes a game.

Need to know where he is announcing it from, if we find out he's going to make his announcement in Akron gg Knicks. But it is totally between the Knicks and the Cavs now imo.

Could LeBron’s delay be working in New York’s favor? Quite possibly. Sources to Hoopsworld.com’s Alex Kennedy claim James’ business advisors Maverick Carter and Randy Mims could be traveling to New York on Wednesday, and LeBron may be joining them.

Carter and Mims have reportedly been grilling the Knicks’ for details on their salary cap and free-agent plans over the past few days, and there are rumblings about a massive Knicks press conference later this week – and not just for Stoudemire, who will officially sign his five-year deal on Thursday. “Something bigger may be happening in the Big Apple,” wrote Kennedy.

Over the last few days, the Knicks have been viewed as longshots to land LeBron, but some believe their second meeting with LeBron’s camp late Saturday, and the deal to bring on All-Star forward Stoudemire — they’re also set to meet with point guard Raymond Felton — have made the Knicks’ very attractive to The King.
