i really have almost completely fallen out of love with this team already. it really depends on how things play out this offseason but i already feel more allegiance to the blazers and BROY

Last edited by SMIGLET; 02-15-2010 at 10:11 PM. Reason: really just BROY

1. The Knicks trade draft picks to unload Jeffries
2. LBJ, Bosh, and Wade all re-sign with their teams
3. Dolan realizes that he has now hyped up the summer of 2010 with nothing to show for it.
4. Panicking, Dolan forces Walsh into making stupid moves just keep media interest up
5. The Knicks give a max contract to Boozer the loser, then spend the rest on Steve Blake and Shaq
6. The 2011 CBA/lockout happens. As usual, the owners win. Teams have much less flexibility under a hard cap.
7. The Knicks now have a terrible roster, absolutely no breathing room under the cap because of the awful 2010 contracts, and no draft picks to show for it.
8. ?????
9. Profit

This is like a lock to be strikingly accurate.

I've got a feeling we're all gonna be bumping this post in 18 months.

Hahn writes that insiders who actually have a clue say that Walsh should be named Executive of the Year if this goes down, even if accurate in regards to the picks.

Walsh isn't a moron. You guys have no idea who knows what on the inside about LBJ and numerous other situations. We probably have room for two maxes if it happens. Even if there's a 50/50 chance that this "gamble" pays off, if it works in works in such a way that we're contenders for the rest of the decade.

Not to mention it hasn't happened yet.

The only inside knowledge Walsh could have that makes this deal +EV is if LBJ had explicitly told him "I will 100% sign with the Knicks, but only if you have enough cap space to sign another max guy."

Since I highly doubt that happened, there is absolutely no chance this is a 50/50 gamble. More like 1/99. When the gamble doesn't pay off, we're bottom dwellers for the next 7+ years.

At least the lockout will save us from watching Ray Allen and Carlos Boozer make $10 million each and play them into the seventh seed.

Will take the rest of the action at 99/1 that THAKID can't cover.

99/1 is obviously an exaggeration, and I wasn't really referring to just signing Lebron. I was referring to this specific trade "working out."

RealGM now reporting that Hughes, not Harrington, will be part of the deal. They speculate that the Knicks want to use him in a separate deal, possibly for Tyrus Thomas.

Tyrus could help them this year since he's really good at blocking shots, but I doubt they'd resign him or anything so that trade doesn't really mean much.

The Knicks are denying that they're close to pulling off a trade for Tracy McGrady -- GM Donnie Walsh reportedly doesn't want to give up rookie Jordan Hill.

I trust in you Donnie...don't bend over for Dolan's asinine demands.

Yeah, he'd be a good replacement for Jeffries.

I'm assuming this would be the deal:

I think the funniest thing about that is the fact that they flash the score of the knicks losing right after what looks like a celebration dance. LOL.
