I'm really annoyed that Jordan Hill doesn't play.

really hoping we can make some kind of a splash with a trade before the deadline that will help us for next year.

i think with the season Lee is having and if he gets to the all star game he might command 11-12mil per year and the knicks cant really give him that. he says he loves NY but he def isnt gonna give us any real discount.

so i think we can def trade him before we lose him for nothing in the offseason and hopefully hill can step up and be serviceable

but at the same time a core of gallo, ill will, and dlee isnt bad.

yeah trading lee would make me sad but it's certainly the right move since we could prob throw jeffries in with it

There's a nonzero chance DLee would veto any trade. There were several reports in the summer that he really wanted to stay in NY because Sabina is based there.

Offseason projections

Danilo Gallinari : $3.304 million
Jordan Hill : $2.669 million
Toney Douglas : $1.071 million
Wilson Chandler : $2.130 million
Jared Jeffries : $6.883 million
Eddy Curry : $11.276 million

thats 27mill on a 53mil projected cap. so we have 26 mil to spend.(33 if we can ship jeffries)

Now if we get lebron 16mil we will have 10mil left with 7 players on the roster

we have 2 2nd round draft picks and also have the possibility of having a 1st rounder if we make playoffs.

we'll probably keep landry for cheap and also probably bender too (unfortunately imo)

12-man roster :
PG : ???/ Toney Douglas
SG : Danilo Gallinari / 2nd round draft pick
SF : LeBron James / Marcus Landry
PF : Wilson Chandler / Jared Jeffries / Jonathan Bender
C : Jordan Hill, Eddy Curry

plus another 2nd rounder and maybe a 1st

we'll have 18mill coming off the books in 2k11.

we lose AL and N8 (no problem)
we lose dlee for nothing (a problem)
hughes bye bye
duhon idk

also what did the NBA ever rule about cutino mobleys contract, they kept delaying the ruling or whatever. he could be valuable trade asset also (although i think i read that donnie isnt going to use him in a trade)

just rambling but hopefully we can ship off jeffries basically.

Terrible Game

Observations:

Chris Duhon is terrible, really wish we had a good PG. Honestly D'antoni has put Hughes, Robinson, Curry, Darko in the doghouse. WHY NOT DUHON!!!
Sessions would be nice right about now, or anyone else for that matter.

PG should be a huge priority right now thru possible trades/waivers or whatever. and definately in the offseason

Hughes if I remember was serviceable as a PG in the minutes he got in beginning of season, was pretty good with the PnR I thought. Insert him there for some minutes

Gallo needs to stop looking scared when he is pressured on the perimeter. I feel like every time this happens it takes him 4 secs to figure out what to do and alot of times he jacks it. He should want to take it to the rack. He isnt the quickest and most athletic but he needs to be creative (which he can and he has solid IQ) and he has a solid pull up/step back jumper I feel like

I can't comprehend how Bender is better than Hill. Just give Hill some minutes. His advanced stats say he is pretty good (very limited minutes though obv). Hill can stretch the floor like Bender can too and he can rebound and block shots

Al and N8 are such bums but at the same I feel like they are positive but then I sit back and think they are negative. But there are times where we need someone other than Dlee to create shots. IDK

Wilson Chandler is looking pretty good. His handle still seems pretty poor, amirite? He also is too slow but he really is doing a good job. His value right now is pretty high.

Give douglas some minutes too.

D'antoni and Donnie can be frustrating

For I guess close to 15 years, and more hardcore since the invention of YouTube, I've wanted to relive a lot of the classic 90's Knicks moments. The finger roll (yes, reliving misery too), Knicks-Heat, Knicks-Bulls, Knicks-Pacers. Well last night it was time for one of my routine quarterly YouTube searches for said material, and all of a sudden the majority of the games I've wanted to re-watch are there in their entirety. The missed finger roll (and the Game 5 of that series where Ewing actually made the shot), the '94 Hubert Davis foul, '98 Knicks-Heat (although for some reason, the all-important video 13/13 of the famous JVG/Mourning fight game is missing), '00 Knicks-Heat with one final, brutal 1-point win in Miami, etc. The 4-pointer and Houston's '99 shot were always readily available (and are on DVD), so I don't include those.

I read an article written last year where Hubert Davis said that to this day, at least once a day, somebody on the street mentions the Pippen foul to him. I find that amazing...just imagine how many times Wayne Knight must get "Hello, Newman". Previously I figured at least 20x a day, but knowing this Hubert Davis information it could well be 100+. His worst days have to be over 200 times. O/U on his very worst day...300?

Anyway, enjoy.

can you elaborate on this? I thought our first round pick this upcoming year was unprotected (unlike last year when we were top 10 protected) and we are losing it regardless of what pick it becomes.

yea i'm like 99.999% sure our first round pick is NOT protected and we are losing it.

god the knicks are so ****ing frustrating to watch. just don't understand why they need to be down 20 points before they start playing with any heart.

I guess the one positive to come out of this game was Jordan Hill..... Let this guy play! it's obvious he has game, He has some nice low post moves and he just works hard. They coveted this guy going into the draft, 8th overall....what is he doing on the bench?

totally agree with all the guys who said to give him all of Bender's minutes.

watched this game half heartidly while watching nfl playoffs

like what i saw from hill, give him the minutes!

nate is annoying. first, he hogs it up that last, weird shot, then misses the one guy he has to worry about on the inbounds.

proof?

excerpt from http://www.thejazzjunkies.com/jazz-n...s-to-jazz-pick

So first of all, here is how the Jazz ended up with this first-round Knicks pick:

In 2004 Isaiah Thomas traded Howard Eisley, Antonio McDyess, Charlie Ward, a 2004 draft pick, and a future protected draft pick to the Suns for Anfernee (Penny) Hardaway and Stephon Marbury (who is now getting paid to sit behind the bench in a suit).

A month later, the Jazz traded Keon Clark (who?) and Ben Handgloten (also who?) to the Phoenix Suns for Tom Gugliotta and that Knicks first-round pick. Here are the Protections for that pick: Protected 2006=top 25, 2007=top 24, 2008=top 23, 2009=top 22. Unprotected in 2010.

am i just wrong for thinking that unprotected means you lose it always? because i am totally positive the pick is "unprotected"

can someone explain to me why, if LBJ comes, players wouldnt accept slight paycuts to build a sick championship team? never made sense to me that because you want 12 mil instead of like 9, times however many players are like that, theyre willing to not have an amazing chance at a ring.

Because players have proven to be unwilling to do this in every sport in many different situations. It isn't impossible, but it's just very unlikely based on history.

I didn't watch the game today, but they won. Therefore, they will continue to keep winning as long as I don't watch games.
