No one wanted to sign him when he was a FA this offseason. I doubt the phones are ringing off the hook right now

He was also a restricted free agent, right? I'm sure your right that there is not a ton of interest, but he should have some value, imo.

Does Nate's height have a big effect on his impact or lack thereof that doesn't show up in the stats?

Explain to me something I read today about Nate's contract:

NYT said that he makes $4 mill this year, but only $2 mill counts for cap purposes; why?

The suggestion was that his contract makes a trade even more difficult. But those numbers still seem pretty modest, and if the contact is expiring, doesn't that make him easier to trad?

Nate, Jeffries, Curry, Harrington, and Hughes for LBJ, Howard, and CP3. DO IT. DO IT.

Nate's act is wearing thin, at least for this fan. He was a restricted FA, otherwise he would have gotten more attention. I don't think any team is willing to give him an extension midyear, if at all, and he's been off this year, so I don't know if the knicks are going to be getting many offers. I can't imagine it would take much for them to part ways though.

We looked a little shaky tonight, but whatever
3 wins in a row, 7 of our last 9. Only half a game out of the 8th spot. Hollinger has us at 53% to make it. wooooooooohhoooooooooooo

HOLY **** was at the game tonight and it was absurd. I laid 6.5 and it was the most ridic ending ever. for those who don't know... Knicks up 5 with 2 seconds left inbound, bad pass, knicks and bulls both go running for it, Danilo grabs it and gets hit by a bull going for the ball as the buzzer sounds.

fans cheer, players cheer, game over....or not. refs huddle, tell players to stay on court, go to tv cameras and review, at this point all of the fans left except for the degens like me who had action on it. and the refs decide a foul occured with .3 left!!!! danillo lines up and hits both extraneous ft's. knicks win 88-81

Anyway, thanks for reminding me of another bust of a lottery pick (#5, I believe).

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The minutes are force-fed by D’Antoni with care
Just praying Chris Duhon won’t collapse from wear and tear.

The kiddies were nestled in at the end of the bench
With visions of playing, even hitting shots in a pinch.
Daddy Walsh in his kerchief, Mamma D’Antoni in her cap
Had just settled down for an early season nap.

When out of the the Garden there arose such a clatter
Walsh sprung from his nap to see what was the matter.
He got up and ran to turn on his big screen TV.
The channel was already set to get MSG.

Clyde wondered aloud who might start to percolate.
Breen was, as usual, just hating on Nate.
Jared Flippin’ Jeffries had just hit a three.
To push the Knicks forward. To thwart a big rally.

Suddenly a rooster, all of six foot and ten
Began pulling down boards and going to the tin.
Lee stuffed the stat sheet till we’d all had our fill.
Then we hit ‘em again with a dose of Ill Will.

Without a single word Walsh went straight to his cell
To see if anyone had a cap friendly player to sell.
It ain’t even New Years, better sell while they’re hot.
Jeffries may just keep ballin’ but most likely he will not.

Gotta watch my pennies. Gotta watch my pounds.
Gotta focus on this summer, when free agents abound.
The Chosen One will come to save us from this mess*.
Until then, Merry Knicksmas to all–in seven Seconds or Less!

* yeah, right.

gallo is doing the best but is like 2-9 from 3. he also passes up on alot of open 3's that he should shoot i think

Bill Simmons : "Fake Trade 1A: Gallinari, Curry and $3 million to Minnesota for the Mark Blount/Brian Cardinal ECs. Basically, Minnesota would be paying $10 million next year to get Gallinari for 2011, 2012 and 2013."

You're a god damn ****** Bill

D'antoni really is too stubborn i feel like.

when he does play curry he makes him the focal of the offense. WHY? let him do the PNR. and run the offense as if it were anyone else.
let darko play and see what he can do.

d.lee is incapable of defending opposing centers.

and there are also times where nate can be used.

i feel like once you get into his doghouse your fcked and can never get out

Curry can't run a PnR effectively because he's so slow. Curry poses no threat of an outside jumper either. Whoever is defending Curry would just cover Duhon while he's coming off the screen.

I'd like to see Hill out there. He's only played ~80 minutes in garbage time this year.

I agree but I think Curry does have somewhat of a jumper. He has pretty quick feet and also good hands.

When he plays Curry he makes him the focal point of the offense and screws up the flow.

Basically its not in dantoni's best interest to see Curry succeed because hes not his type of player. same for darko and same for marbury.

same reason he won't play nate in garbage minutes or against worse teams, because if he does good he might be forced to play him again

overall i like what dantoni has done (especially with the persoannal and awful PG) but he really is just incredibly stubborn.

You're probably right, but I really hope Dantoni doesn't think like this. If a player does good, it is certainly in his best interest as long as copstache can make the proper adjustments.

Nate is sitting is because he wasn't fitting into the offensive system well, and wasn't playing defense. Same with Curry. If they can fix these problems, why is it a bad thing?
